Introduction
The following piece of paper will focus on a very serious issue in the society. The topic
of the paper will be to put the light on the quality care in the promotion of the health and well-
being of the infants and the toddlers. The four pieces of journals will have to be criticized in a
unique manner. This topic is very important since the health and well-being of the little infants
have been harmed by several environmental issues. The strengths and weaknesses of the articles
will have to be found out to understand the issues that are inherent for the well-being of the
children.

A MÄORI AND PACIFIC LENS ON INFANT AND TODDLER PROVISION IN EARLY
CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (Lesley Rameka and Ali Glasgow)
This article has been selected because there is much evidence about the current position
of the infants and toddlers in the background of the Maori people in New Zealand (Rameka &
Glasgow, 2015). As they are the aboriginal people in the country they do not get the proper
health treatment from the communities as they are much neglected indeed. The Maori children
have not got the proper treatment for their health benefits over the years. The childhood
education has not been provided to them as well. The care giving practices can be of two types.
These are the traditional and the contemporary practices. There are some barriers in this scenario
and these things will have to be overcome.
This article has provided much insight on the topic and has been very much evident in
providing the better knowledge about the topic. The importance of the education has been
considered as one of the basic necessities for the proper improvement in the society. The Maori

infants and the toddlers have been deprived of these facilities as well. The culturally relevant
theories will have to be applied for the strategic benefits of the Maori people in the society
(Rameka & Glasgow, 2015). The education system will have to be provided to all the people
within the society indeed. The impact of these strategies will surely have a positive impact on the
society.
The strength of this article lies in the successful portrayal of the problems within the
society related to care giving. The important issues have been brought out. This article has also
shown the importance of providing the proper care giving to the children if the Maori society.
The theoretical frameworks have been applied in the article as well (Rameka & Glasgow, 2015).
There are not much weaknesses have been found in this article. This article has contributed a lot
to the topic in the positive ways.

Early Experiences Matter: A Relationships-Based Curriculum for the Birth-to-Three Age
Group (Marjory Ebbeck, Sheela Warrier, Mandy Goh).
This article focuses on the care giving practices to the infants and the toddlers within the
Singapore. The education facilities have been much discussed about in this article. The
experience of the children in the early years is all that matters (Ebbeck, Warrier & Goh, 2018).
The care giving institutions will have to provide the proper care to all the children within the
society. The primary concentration of this article has been mainly on the development of the
children from the early ages. The brain development stages and the impacts of education on the
brains of the children have been portrayed in this section.

The article has revealed that this period of the infants is very much critical since the
development of the brains of the babies have been discussed in somewhat critical ways as well.
The discussion on the Early Childhood Development Agency (EDCA) has been made in this
course as well (Ebbeck, Warrier & Goh, 2018). The most important issues in the education for
the children have been discussed in this article like the difference in the learning and
development of the children from their birth and three years of age. This article has highlighted
on the fact that the babies are born with the strong motivation power. This power will lead them
to learn in a better manner.
This article has contributed to the topic in a strong manner since the traditional research
design method has been used in this article to find out the results in the child respondents for the
country (Ebbeck, Warrier & Goh, 2018). The strengths of the article lie in the fact that it has
shed the light on the various issues that are prevalent in the design of the relationship-bases
curriculum for the children of that particular age group. The weakness is shown in the article as
the mitigation strategies for the problems in the relationship-based curriculum have not been
discussed properly as well.

Infants, Family Day Care and the Politics of Belonging (Tina Stratigos, Ben Bradley and
Jennifer Sumsion).
This is the third article that has been selected to be criticized in a skillful manner
(Stratigos, Bradley & Sumsion, 2014). The article has been chosen because it has all the
ingredients or elements that can be related to this topic for the proper understanding. The authors
of this article are Tina Stratigos, Ben Bradley and Jennifer Sumsion. The care giving will have to

be given to the children and this has to be provided to them effectively as well. This article has
revealed that the aspect of the belongings is very much important for the children. The
implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) on the children has been
evaluated.
The care for the children and the infants in the family and providing them with the
thoroughly important since the overall development of the children is indeed very much
important for them (Stratigos, Bradley & Sumsion, 2014). The care giving can be provided to the
children in the two ways. These are in the home and in the family. The article has focused on the
several sections like the early childhood and care (ECEC). The background of New Zealand has
been considered here. The fact of belonging has been the relationship of the children with the
other people in the family has been discussed here thoroughly. Thus this article has made much
positive contributions to the topic of the assignment.
It has some strengths and weaknesses as well. The positive focus on the EYLF and ECEC
has been the major strength for the article. This relationship of the members of the family and the
infants is really very much integral (Stratigos, Bradley & Sumsion, 2014). The health of the
infants and toddlers has not been focused properly in this segment. This is a weakness of the
article. The various dimensions for maintaining the health and well-being of the infants have
been discussed here like the emotional, cultural, social, temporal, spatial, moral or ethical,
physical, legal and political. These aspects will have to be discussed properly in this section as
well.

The fourth article that has been selected here is the ‘A pedagogy of care: Moving beyond
the margins of managing work and minding’ (Rockel, 2009). This article has been selected in
order to be criticized because the aspect of child pedagogy has a deep relationship with the
overall development of the children. The author of this article is Jean Rockel (Rockel, 2009).
The most important issues and challenges faced in providing the children with the care
giving have been discussed over here. The care setting in the educational context has been given
the most important focus in this article. The national curriculum will have to be revised for the
benefits of the children and the infants (Rockel, 2009). The qualified teachers and the educators
will have to play the major role in this procedure. According to the authors it has been revealed
that the educators should be trained to tackle large groups of infants. The collectiveness of the
children or the infants has been very problematic to handle for the caregivers.
The author has expressed his opinion that the care giving for the infants should always be
based on their habits that have been seen in them over the months and years. The child care
should be provided to them as per the pedagogical approach (Rockel, 2009). The strength of this
article lies in the display of the minute details of child pedagogy that has been put in by the
authors. The weakness is that it has not showed the complexity of the infant care giving in a
minute manner. The role of the care givers has been very important to assess the genuine details
about the author. Thus the article has provided a good contribution about the subject topic.

the article have been described here. The importance of care giving has been discussed here in a
grand manner since the infants are need of thorough care. The care givers should play the major
role in providing the infants with the all sorts of facilities to the infants in terms of health and
education mostly.
