INTRODUCTION
In order to execute any given task, project or presentation, proper and cooperative
standards of teamwork are very important as targets which are setup for any activity are much
efficiently achieved when efforts are jointly exerted by multiple people (Cortelyou-Ward, 2018).
This report will include personal reflections of multiple people creating a presentation on an
historically important person which in this case will be Queen Victoria and will describe the
various models of teamwork and personal motivation such as Belbin's 9 team roles and
Herzberg's two factor theory of motivation along with personal description of self based on the
competing values framework model.
MAIN BODY
Out of a brilliant selection full of inspirational individuals, we settled down on Queen
Elizabeth as the topic of our presentation as everyone felt comfortable with the amount of
content available on her and her great deeds all over digital media and internet and her legacy
being quite recent compared to important people belonging to ancient eras further back. In order
to provide a comprehensive presentation on Queen Elizabeth, our team consisted of 4 members
and is was very important to properly identify and assign team roles and behaviours before
executing the task at hand. Theory of Belbin's 9 team roles which is a concept which through
which roles required in a team are bifurcated into 3 major categories which are thought oriented,
people oriented and action oriented (Huang, 2021).
The most former being critical and analytical thinkers behind the team's operations while
the latter most are go getters concerned with taking necessary actions to make sure the deed gets
done. The people oriented job roles are concerned with using networking and social skills for the
benefit of the deeds. Both these categories have separated job roles which are described below.

For the purpose of creating this presentation, it was necessary to allocate proper job roles to all 4
of us friends to turn us into a proper and efficient team and I analysed the behavioural traits of all
of us and decided to use the following job roles along with the associated traits (Kruschke, 2018)
.
Myself – Since I am good with talking and setting coordinative relations between people
and manage their working well, I played the role of the team worker whose job is to make
sure the team is going in the right direction and easing the workload of individual
members creating the presentation.
Friend – Having a knack for perfecting things and doing their best with every task they
are allocated, they were given the role of being the completer/finisher. Their job during
the team presentation was to fine tune the details written on the slides and check the
completed presentation for errors.
Friend Possessing great knowledge about history and being very interested in
searching an learning about Queen Elizabeth and her life, they were given the role of
being the specialist and the entire presentation's content was searched by this individual
from various sources.
Friend – A trait that I identified in them was that they loved being challenged an d
thrived in undertaking tasks which require hard-work which pushes them. I gave them the

role of the implementer and the entire presentation's content was laid out and designed by

There were many roadblocks which downed our morale various times and models such as
Herzberg's two factor theory of motivation were very helpful in keeping us driven and focused
throughout the presentation. According to this theory, the elements that exist in a business's work
floor can be classified into 2 major categories which are explained below.
Hygiene factors – These factors are not responsible for rising morale of teams but their
existence in necessary for that level to not decrease such as pay, fringe benefits and
status.
Motivational factors – These factors are the main perpetrators of motivation and are
readily used to keep people driven such as recognition and career growth.
There was multiple times where our morale to research the content and design this presentation
because there was no pay attached and there no monetary benefits for any kind involved but we
all came on the same page as there was existence of motivational factors such as gaining holistic
recognition and progressing towards a stellar academic career kept us going and we completed
the presentation.
The competing values model is an important framework which is designed to understand
the basic competing values that individuals and organizations must prioritize in operations
(Costa, Rodrigues and Ferreira, 2020). My own experience making this presentation has been
described below within the outlines of this model.
Human relations model – Making sure that all team members are mentally and
physically fit to make the presentation and assigning job roles to them using Belbin's -
Collaborate
Internal process model – Filtering and proofreading the content searched on Queen
Elizabeth and making one member of the team check every slide made for potential
errors - Control

Rational goal model – Keeping the members of the team highly motivated and setting of
goals during the presentation making such as completing a number of slides per day and
deciding title and number of slides to be made – Compete
Open Systems model – The slides were created after detailed researching about Queen
Elizabeth and they were revised again upon finding better material and errors before final
submission – Create
CONCLUSION
This above concluded report went into detail regarding the processes of team working
and motivation during the creation and submission of a presentation based on historical figures
with the use of various models of management such as Belbin's team roles which are useful is
managing teams and Herzberg's two factor motivation theory which keeps the team driven and
focused. The report was concluded with the use of CVF model on the efforts put up by teams I
making academic presentations.
