AI Summary
This report analyzes the current information system of the Queensland Rail G-Train, identifying issues with the existing manual ticketing and checkout process. The report proposes a new information system incorporating a biometric entrance device to address these problems. The proposed system would store passenger fingerprint data, allowing access only to authorized individuals, thereby improving efficiency and reducing financial losses. The analysis includes a discussion of the decision-making processes within the system, emphasizing the use of generalized and expert knowledge. The report highlights the benefits of the new system for the organization, specifically in terms of managing finances and improving overall operational effectiveness. The report also provides recommendations on how the G-Train's human activity system can better utilize the new information system to enhance its performance.

INFORMATION SYSTEM
Part A
The current system of the Queensland Rail G-train has the manual ticketing and checkout
system. Hence this HAS is problematic and has a number of flaws that would be hampering the
organization both financially and strategically. The main problem takes place when a customer
boards train without purchasing a ticket from the organization and the number of unidentified
passengers on the train are of a large number. The passengers who have actually purchased a
ticket doesn’t get a chance to sit in train. Hence, this hampers the business of the organization to
a great extent.
The system to be implemented would be an information system that would be
incorporated with a developed HAS. The HAS would be consisting of the railway coaches to
implemented with a biometric entrance device. The device would be incorporated with an
improved IS for the organization that would be storing the ticket details of the passengers that
would be boarding the train. The tickets would be making the customers store the bio metric
details. The fingerprints of the customers would be scanned and stored. The customers would be
only allowed to the coaches where they have their finger prints registered. This would ease out
the problems for the organization.
Part B
The designed IS would be able to display the records for the tickets and the customers
that are boarding the train. In addition to this, the IS would be storing the details of the
fingerprints provided by the customer. These data would be distributed equally among the
coaches in which the customers would be boarding.

INFORMATION SYSTEM
The biometric checking system would be supplied with only the biometrics of the
customers that would be boarding the coach and customers would be able to get authorization for
the entry into the coach with the help of the biometrics signature.
The decision making that would be taking place within the system is a programmed
decision. In addition to this, the decision is a strategical one and taken for the developments
within the organization. This is major decision that would be taken and this a group decision that
would be helpful for the organization in maintaining the finances.
The Generalized knowledge and the expert knowledge has been used here during the
development of the system. The knowledge about the economics of the organization has been
taken into account here and also the information about the coaches of the organization has been
taken here.
