Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown is a resort town in the south west part of New
Zealand. The town has an urban population of 15500 as of
December 2017. The town is built around the Queenstown
Bay on Lake Wakatipu. The land has an area of
8705square kilometers and a total resident population of
37100.The nearest cities is Dunedin and Invercargill. The
city is famous for the commerce oriented tourism and ski
tourism adventure. Labeled as the most beautiful town in
New Zealand, the town is one of the most visited towns.
The annual visitor footfall is estimated to be around 3.5
million people (Mbie.govt.nz. 2018). The town has an
area of about 8704.96 sq millions and includes the
neighboring towns of Arrowtown, Glenorchy, Wanaka and
Alexandra. The city is primarily known for its tourism and
adventurous sprit.

As it can be seen from the given table, the number of
vsiitors to Queenstown in New Zealabd are in huge
numbers. The given data sheet gives details about the past
5 years details. It can be said that on an average around
3500,000 people viti the town annually. With the increase
in tecnology and social media, New Zeakand has taken
various steps to ensure that the country has adequate
tourist visitord The efforts which were taken by the
government have bought about huge improvements in the
condition of the given country and from the table it can be
witnessed that the visits have increased considerably.

During the 2010-2011 period the vsiiors had increased
considerably, however, they took a tool and fell
considerably due to the economic downturn in the given
period. From 2014 onwards, the numbers have been
increasing constantly (Newzealand.com 2018).
Origin of the Visitors
The Visitors visiting the Queenstown in New Zealand
belong to various diffferent countries around the globe.
These visitors belong to regions like India, America, Italy,
Switzerland, Hong Kong,Taiwan, Tonga, Denmark,
Brzzil, Thailand, Canada, Japan, Germany, Tonga and Fiji
(Statista.com.2018).

Previously, this was not the case, however recently as New
Zealand has been increasing the advertisement and the
economy of the country has also improved considerably,
the number of visitors visiting the place has also improved
considerably.
People from various parts of the globe, would like to
intake the beauty of the place and this might be a reason
why the population has increased considerably
(Qldc.govt.nz. 2018).
Climate of Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown witnesses’ snowcapped mountains and clear
days during summer whereas during the summer the days
are warm and the temperature reaches around to 26
degrees.
Although there exists no difference between the seasonal
rainfalls which takes place in Queenstown, March tends to
be the wettest month which tends to have an average
rainfall of 80mm (Qldc.govt.nz. 2018). The driest
month of the year is July when the average precipitation
takes a new low at 65mm. Snow during the winters also
tends to give precipitation.
The average temperature in summer is 17 degree and
during winter it is six degree

tourist attractions to the given visitors in order to make
their stay a memorable one. There are many activities and
attractions in the given region which range from jet
boating, bungee jumping, white water rafting, skydiving.
There are various restaurants and bars that can be visited
in the given town. Places of tourist attraction range from
Milford Sound, Route burn Track, Lake Hayes, and
Skyline Queenstown to Milford Galleries, Hollyford
Track, and Lake Wanaka
Skyline Queenstown- is the Gondola and Luge experience
with more than 1000 visitors daily. The place has been
stated to be one of the most attractive places around the
globe and is a must visit.
Lake Wanaka-The 300 M Lake, is New Zealand’s largest
lake and the most visited place in New Zealand. Its serene
beauty is spoken about very often.
Hollyford Track- the Hollyford Track is located in the
Southern Island and accessible round the year. The place
is visited by thousands every year.

The accommodation options available at Queenstown,
New Zealand are as follows:
 Hotels- Queenstown has the option of various hotels
which offer a comfortable stay to the consumers.
Some of these hotels have a name internationally.
 Airbnb options- Airbnb has become a popular
option globally and for this reason many visitors can
stay at the homes of the people in order to ensure
that they have a comfortable stay (Queenstown

 Motels- motels also serve as an easy option for the
visitors and there are around 350 motels in New
Zealand.
