Overview
The report is based upon the case study where a owner of a small, private and exclusive
gym are planning to spend a substantial amount of money for renovating and expanding gym for
raise customer satisfaction. Also, it will raise its fees by analyzing how much people are ready to
spend on gym. Further, this report will help to determine the customer's view and their need
while re-designing gym so that it will help to take better decision.
Presenting the need of questionnaire
The questionnaire is designed in order to determine the views of selected respondents
with regards to a topic. Through effective questionnaire, the owner may easily determine what
type of extra facilities they should add on in order to attract range of customers. Along with this,
questionnaire is an effective means of measuring behavior, preference and opinions of large
number of people so that it will help to get outcome best as well (Brown, Wäppling and
Woodruffe-Burton, 2020). Moreover, this method of data collection is consider one of the
simplest and low cost method that assist to get information quickly and assist in decision making
too.
In addition to this, using a questionnaire, it will be easy to determine how much cost
should be invested and how much customer will afford to take a membership in gym because
owner is planning to increase fees in future. That is why, by determining the view of customers,
the decisions are easily taken which in turn assist to meet the customers satisfaction as well.
What type of data is required
To increase customer satisfaction, it is necessary to identify the demand of customer and
loopholes at gym which is identified from the questionnaire only. Further, owner of gym also
want to increase fees and for that, there is a need to collect data related to prices which
customers are ready to afford. Further, after renovation, gym also add extra equipment and
facilities for customers, which will be determined by asking question. Therefore, needs and
wants of customers relate to gym facilities is the type of data which is used. In addition to this,
mode of promotion is another type which is used by the researcher in order to determine best
promotion methods which attract customers (Gianfredi and et.al., 2019). Further, demographic
type of data is also used that helps to determine the age of selected respondent who frequently
visit gym. Lastly, facilities which will be used in future will also provided that help to take
decision.

Findings: As per the questionnaire, it is interpreted that majority of the respondents visit
gym every alternate day because of fulfilling their aim such that build muscle, improve
endurance, improve athletic skills etc. it is also interpreted from the questionnaire that majority
of the respondents are ready to spend £40 a month and therefore, in order to increase the fees,
owner should make sure that they do not increase the price above of £40. Further, majority of
the respondents are also state that 2 hour is the average time which they spend in a gym at daily
basis and among all, girls like Aerobic and Zumba exercise while, boys like to strength exercise
and the also spend amount on these activity only. Also, majority of the selected respondents are
from 21 to 29 and the average salary of gym members varies from £25000- £35000 and that is
why, maximum they can invest up to £40 a month.
Moreover, from this it is also analyzed that social media is the best promotional tool
which help to let people know about new facilities at gym and they all are agree that they follow
page of gym on Facebook in order to get information frequently. Further, some of the members
state that low level of equipment used in gym is the biggest reason of canceling membership at
gym while some says that interior design and ambiance is not perfect which help to stay
connected with premise for a long time (Rodrigues and et.al., 2019). Lastly, majority of them are
agreed that there is a need to add some extra facilities at gym i.e. Physiotherapist and message
therapy so that people will more focused upon their health.
