Faculty of Engineering 2022 CAPSTONE PROJECT
OVERVIEW
As part of an Engineering degree at QUT, students are required to undertake capstone project units in their final
year of study. This project aims to draw together the student's learning from their entire degree program and
allows them to extend their professional skills by delivering a project from concept to completion.
Students work individually or in single disciplinary teams to undertake industry-based projects.
Projects run between February and June for Semester 1 and July and November for Semester 2. Some projects can
run for a year across both Semesters (February to November or July to June).
All projects will have a QUT academic supervisor who will work with the industry partner to develop the project
scope, including the learning expectations and assessment criteria. The QUT academic supervisor is responsible for
the selection and/or approval of students for participation in each project. The QUT academic supervisor will
support, guide and advise students throughout the term of the Project and manage the assessment requirements.
