Introduction
The main aim of this task is to outline the significance of the referencing skills, paraphrasing
skill, and research skill. Here is the discussion that how a student uses the reflective process to
improve and enhance their future action and behavior. More detail of the task has been detailed
below.
Definition of referencing skill
The firs skill that I have used to improve my knowledge and experience is referencing skill.
Referencing is used to tell the reader where ideas and thoughts from the other sources have been
utilized in an assignment. Referencing skill permits me to acknowledge and recognize of other
writers and researchers in my work. Any university and college assignments that draw on the
ideas, research and words of other writers should include citations.
Evaluating the performance
When I was in university I did not know how to do referencing. Therefore, various difficulties
were faced by me at that time. My lecturer suggested me that referencing style that was done by
me was completely incorrect. I did not take care about the in text-citation thus, I was facing
many issues that time.
Identify the changes
After the various analysis, my teacher said that I will have to change in my referencing skills.
Therefore, I did the same and I learned how to do referencing. I saw referencing format, and
types of referencing on internet then I learned ample of things about the referencing. I also read
various types of books, articles and journals during my study. I requested to my friends to check
my work and referencing. In this way, I improved my referencing skills.

Definition of paraphrasing skill
Paraphrasing involves facts, opinion, views and ideas. Paraphrasing may be defined as a
repetition of something written or spoken using different words. The paraphrasing express the
meaning of (specific spoken or written) initiating different words, to attain greater clarity.
Evaluating the performance
In earlier days, I did not know how to do paraphrasing and I was not aware about the
paraphrasing tool. Thus, I was facing ample of issues that time.
Identifying the changes
After the various researchers, I have found that I will learn about the paraphrasing skills and tool.
I will need to learn about the advantages of paraphrasing. Paraphrasing reduces the length and
complexity of the single sentence. It will also help to check and identify the data accuracy.
Definition of research skill
Research may be defined as a systematic investigation and study of data, materials and sources in
order to set facts and reach new conclusions. It is a detailed and careful investigation into a
specific problem, obstacles and issue using the scientific method. Research skill helps me to
expand and flourish my knowledge and experience.
Evaluate the performance
During my study, I did not whether how to conduct research and how to collect data and facts. I
did not know the significance of the research methodology and skills.
Identifying the changes
After the various analysis, I read the various articles and books. Research is not required for
students and academics but also for professionals. I learned research tools and methods with the
help of my friends. My lecturer also taught me about the tools and methods of research.
