2SOCIAL INEQUALITY
Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to understand the issue of social inequality which
exist in the present time period. In addition to this, the paper has looked in to some
empirical evidences of racism which leads to such instances of social inequality.
Discussion
The most concerning example of such forms of social inequality is that of racism
(Edelman, Luca & Svirsky, 2017). Racism is that social phenomenon where the
‘white’ skin toned individuals of the society consider themselves to be superior than
the ‘black’ skin toned individuals by virtue of their skin color (Lauren, 2018). There is
no logic which prevails in such kind of racial discrimination and it has been in
existence since the times of the colonial period. Thus, it can be seen that it would
prove to be challenging to remove social inequality from the society since they are
inherent to the individuals. The minds of the people therefore, needs to be changed.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it can be observed that the aspect of social inequality stems from
the inherent culture of the people. The prejudices which are held by them lead them to
discriminate the others who are not similar to them.
