INTRODUCTION
Racism is the process of showing hate towards people regarding their differences. It is the
total opposite of freedom and very important to eliminate racism from society. Racism continues
to grow in the community along with the technological advancements and education given to the
entire world (Bertrand, and Sampson, 2020). Many people are unaware of their discriminatory
behaviour towards an individual and they think racism is a normal behaviour. It is forming the
barrier between modernisation of the society where there is no place for unjustified in the
community. This essay deals with the racism taking in schools the new generations are growing
to rule next.
MAIN BODY
Schools are segregated and based on income and ethnicity where children understand the
quality of education. Such schools are polluted with racism which is a prejudiced belief
particular about which race is superior and which is not. This idea of racism has set in the minds
of people from many years because of the neglecting and oppressing on some race about their
traits, colour and background. It is a social barrier which is preventing the modern society from
advancing. Racism makes the person feel bad about the way they are born. This activity is very
toxic for the people especially children (Brooks, and Watson, 2019). They are the generation
which will form the upcoming world and following racism in school is very toxic. Racism is
deep seated in the culture and has highlighted many series of violence against the people of their
race. Direct racism can affect the incidents of being racists such as harassment, abuse and
discrimination. Racism in schools is usually not acknowledged and addressed by teachers or any
other authority of the organisation that hold the power to do something to stop the spread of
racism. An individual who have not been through racism might not indentify or try to dismiss it.
The main important and alarming part is when racist attitudes are allowed in the school
boundaries and goes unnoticed by the staff. The environment of the school then becomes normal
to the racism and lead to the growth of these prejudiced attitudes. When a parent feel that their
child id going through some kind of racism, they have the right to complain against t with the
authorities of school, teachers and even the whole of educational system. This complaint relating
to racial discrimination offers only one indication of extent of racism in Australian schools. In
case where there are more complaint against racism are registered related to the area of education

must not be equated with a low incidence of racist action. Not having the proper idea of
legislation and rules, fear and unwillingness from the side of children about the report for racists
incidents may prevent from bringing the racist complaints being a formal ones (Zacheus, and
et.al., 2019). Even the reluctance from the parents will result in contributing into more racial
activities. The basic idea for stopping the racism rather than filing a formal complaint are not
appropriate as mediation becomes the alternative in such situations. Racism is spread so much in
schools that it has become a part of day to day life of students and teachers. Some of the racist
incidents which can be witnessed include calling, teasing, exclusion and mainly abuse and
bullying of the child. The harassment regarding race is done by other students and even teachers
who fail to intervene properly in the situation of racist harassment. They tend to deal
inappropriately in the classroom discussions. The impact of racism on education for the students
from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander is that the children are suffering from overt forms of
racism. They are being provoked to fight the other students and every family has at least one
child who was called by a racist name. Parents believe that teachers are the culprit which
discriminated against children. People from Aboriginal and Torres Islanders along with the
students coming from different language background are more likely to experience bullying at
the school when compared to other students.
Racism shows a negative impact on the minds of people along with their physical health.
Racism has a significant contribution to the severe health outcomes. It can even cause diabetes
and other external diseases. Racial discrimination is still living in the houses and schools of
Australia. It has caused various numbers of grim tribulations for the Aboriginal people and they
are the majority victims of racism. They are the part of society but still cannot use the public
services and endure injustice which is caused by the native people. Racial discrimination in
school leaders and teachers affects the engagement with students It can affect the abilities of
learning in a child (Arneback, and Jämte, 2021). Racism also influences and interprets the
student behavioural choices. Negative stereotype about the race in students is spread mostly with
media. It raises the security concerns even in the children who are victim of racists actions.
Because of mental pressures from racism some students might join some unhealthy activities
such as smoking and drug taking to neutralise their feelings and dealing with racists actions. It
can lead to suicide in some cases. Many teachers felt that racial behaviour in the school can
affect the implementation of maintain an effective classroom management and lead to failure of

school executive to deal with racist incidents. It is not always the students who are victimised of
racial injustice but also the teachers. They suffer indiscrimination in the employment and prevent
them from having any promotional opportunities.
CONCLUSION
Racial factors are the result from many factors. Mainly are the historical reasons which is
making it difficult to eradicate racism ones and for all. Racism is still alive in Australia which is
resulting into many social issues and has reached the compound of schools. Students studying in
school are victimised or the causing the racial injustice. Bullying is the major form of racism
present in the school boundaries. Racism is a wrong belief followed by the generations and must
be eradicated from the society. People must correct the individuals following the racist ways of
judging people.
