Introduction
Racism is a discrimination or prejudice that is directed against a person who is based
on the belief of belonging to a race that is superior (Fanning, Bryan p. 16). It is a belief of a
group of people who have been dominating a group for a long period having the concept that
the race is inferior due to the complexion of their body. It has been prevalent in the European
countries due to their fair complexion that they are superior to other races. The paper will
help to understand the psychology that has been holding racism in their country.
Analysis of the case
Andrella David is a dark woman who has visited a store waiting for ice cream, where
she was being accused for shoplifting by the Sobeys staff. However, she was not involved in
any of the shoplifting incident. When she had asked for a video clip it was found that the
woman in the video was not she as it was a black woman, the staff considered her to be guilty
and claimed that she was the women in the video. As a result, she was being harassed for
being dark and she had to leave the place being upset and crying. According to Bell, Derrick
racial discrimination is a huge issue that has been prevalent in Canada. Almost 7 out of 10

taking numerous initiatives to stop racial discrimination.
