INTRODUCTION
Human resource is division of organisation which charged with screening, finding,
training job applications, recruiting as well as administering benefit program for staff
members (Ciobanu, Androniceanu and Lazaroiu, 2019). In an organisation human resource
division play important role in motivation of employees. This, report is based on Radisson
Hotels is an International hotel chain and it was founded in 1909. Respective assignment will
discuss role of HR in motivation along with this theory related to the motivation also
highlight.

Role of HR in motivation
In an organisation human resource division play important role in motivation of
employees. There are several practices which HR officer implement within company so that
they will be able to motivate employees in effective manner (Muscalu and Ciocan, 2016).
Through the activities perform by human resource manager in Radisson Hotel employees
motivation can be encourage which result in enhancing quality of life-work balance for their
personnel’s. Moreover, employees motivation result in improving climate of Radisson Hotel
as well as directly impact on productivity in positive manner. Below mention are some ways
by using that HR officer can motivate their employees explanation are as follows :-
Training and development session - If Radisson Hotel HR Officer invest within
training and development session of their employees they feel valuable as well as get
motivate for working in more effective manner.
Incentives - If employees perform their role in effective manner and result in positive
impact on organisation productivity then it is responsibility of HR Officer to provide extra
incentives to them which can be both monetary and non-monetary (Polat, Bal and Jansen,
2017).
Involve in decision making - It is the best way of motivating staff members as HR
officer have to involve their employees in decision making procedures because it will give
wide impact within positive manner on behaviour of staff members.

Thus, above mention are roles performed by human resource officer within
organization for motivating their staff members so that they can perform their job role in
more better manner. Apart from this, there are some motivation theories which HR officer of
Radisson Hotel can use for motivating their staff members.
Theory of HR and motivation
It has been already discussed that human resource officer play important role in
organization within employees motivation. Along with this, they implement motivational
theories so that practices will implement in more effective manner and better outcomes will
be gained.
Maslow's Hierarchy of needs – It is an motivational theory whose implementation
will be beneficial for business firm in motivating their staff members so that they will be able
to conduct organization operation in more effective manner. Respective model comprise of
five-tire model of human needs and these are often depict as hierarchical levels within an
pyramid. Needs lower down in the hierarchy must be satisfied before individuals can attend
to needs higher up (Mawere and et. al., 2016). From the bottom of the hierarchy upwards, the
needs are: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. In
addition to this, needs lower down within hierarchy should have to be satisfied before
particular person can attend to requirement at higher up. In bottom of hierarchy upwards, the
needs are: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, as well as self-actualization.
Furthermore this five stage model is classified within deficiency and growth need were first
four level are of deficiency need as well as the top level in known as growth need (Maslow's
Hierarchy of needs, 2020). It is responsibility of Radisson Hotel HR officer to focus on each
and every need of their staff members because fulfilment of these results in their motivation
as well as organization. After basic need for physical survival get satisfy then individual
move towards for motivated. Once that level get fulfil then individual will move next level
which will motivate them explanation are as follows :-
Physiological needs –It is related to biological needs for human survival such as food,
drink, shelter, clothing, sleep and so on. Without fulfilling these need employees will
not able to work in effective manner.
Safety needs –after satisfying physiological needs get satisfied, requirement for safety
and security get salient (Zavei and Jusan, 2017). Employees want to experience

predictability, order and control within their lives such as safety in job role business
and medical care.
Love and belongingness needs – This is basic requirement which result in motivating
employees. It can be fulfilled in organisation when their will be positive working
environment and staff are also involved in decision making. It also include friendship,
trust, acceptance, giving affection and so on.
Esteem needs –it is categorized within two categories I.e., esteem for oneself and
desire for reputation or respect from others (Acevedo, 2018). According to respective
theory, when need for respect and reputation of employees start getting fulfils then
also they will get motivated.
Self actualization need –it refers realization if individual potential, self-fulfillment,
seeking personal growth as well as peak experiences. In this individual desire for
accomplishing what they want.
Thus, with the assistance of respective motivation theory Human Resource Officer will be
able to motivate their staff members in effective manner as well as organisational goals also
get accomplished because motivated employ perform in effective manner.
CONCLUSION
After going through entire discussion it has been summarised that, human resource is
important part of an organisation and it work for the welfare of staff members. In addition to
this, their main motive is Human Resource division in organisation is employees motivation
as well as HR manager can implement suitable theoretical framework related to it.
