INTRODUCTION
Supply chain management, operation and logistic management is essential part of
business. It help to manage quality of products or services effectively which is beneficial for
increasing productivity as well as profitability (Tidd and Bessant, 2018). Supply chain
management is management of flow of facilities or goods and include all procedure that convert
raw materials into final products. Operation management also work in order to gain positive
results and increase profit margin, they help to create highest level of efficiency within company.
The present report is based on Range Rover and its operation, logistic and supply chain
management issues faced by manager within wider organizational structure. It explain, issues in
managing business relationship with supply chain and quality, appropriate management theories
and solutions of operation management. Furthermore, suggestion for solving problems with
above areas as recommendation.
Overview of company-
Range rover is automotive firm and full sized luxury sport utility vehicles from company.
It is launched by British Leyland in 1970. they experimenting with the large model than land
rover series in order to grab competitive environment and increase profitability. Range rover
produce range of luxury or top brand vehicles which attract people effectively, their design and
structure of vehicles is a tractive which garb the attention of customers and increase interest of
purchasing. Organization brand attracted controversy, specifically from those concerned with
potential negative atmosphere that impact of biggest luxury vehicles. According to supply chain
manager they faced operation, logistics and supply chain management problems which affect on
business growth and market reputation.
Operation, logistic and supply chain management theories
As per view of Govindan and et.al., (2014) Range rover is one of the most famous and
popular luxury brand, they provide range of products and has number of customers. With the
help of talented and skilled workers they can be able to offer better services and products to
peoples effectively which is beneficial for business as well as financial performance. Company
employees contribute to achieve organizational goals and objectives and performance well. Due
to some issues in logistics, supply chain management and operation management and manager
face issues which is not appropriate for company and make negative influence upon their
operational and supply chain management. Managing quality is one of the area which need to

improve within organizational structure with the help of appropriate theory. Managing quality of
products or services is very essential for business. Managing business relationships in supply
chains is another area which also improvement for further business growth within manufacturing
industry. Operation management theory like six sigma and lean management is useful and
appropriate in context of solving issues.
As discussed by Sangari and Razmi, (2015) six sigma is the methodology or technique
for improving the quality of operation management by eliminating defects or issues, saving time
and reducing cost. It is statistical based, disciplined, data driven method and continuous
improvement and development approach which help to eliminate problem in quality and enhance
quality of products effectively. It represent population standard deviation which measured of
variation in the data set gathering about the procedure. It thought of as measures of procedure
performance, with this approach being goal based on issues. Six sigma approach is based on 5
phases that help to improve quality and manage procedure producing product effectively. There
are 5 principles is used to solve organizational and operational issues like problem in managing
quality.
Define-
Operation management need to define issue before making any plan or taking action in
order to solve it. They need to define exact issue in managing quality and managing business
relationship in supply chain which is essential and primary. They must define that issues it
affected business or not and than take next step drive to solve problems. Without getting
information about issue they cannot be able to solve and manage quality efficiently as well as
build good relationship with supply chain management. production management and its team
members create plan to define reason behind issue arise in managing quality.
Measure-
This phase help to collect an incredible amount of information which is based on issue
arise in managing quality and business relationship with supply chain. Gather data is used to
solve problem or find out the best solutions. Value stream mapping is one the procedure include
in this phase which help to measure issue. It support to illustrate current position of issue and
applied to define exact extent of problem in managing quality or other. With the help of creating

Analyse-
Analyse phase support to identified root cause of problem in managing business
relationship with supply chain and quality. Since measure and define phases is completed,
manager must now have clear issues statement. Designs of experiments help to derive the
structured solution. Problem statement- Due to ineffective supplier relationship, supply chain
management face issue in managing business relationship with supply chain that effect upon
business performance and profitability. On the other side manager faced issues for managing
quality because of lack of technological innovation.
Improve-
It is the fourth phase of six sigma theory, where manager of supply chain management
start seeing return of investments in positive ways. They need to involve all the stakeholders in
procedure and planning for improvement in order to obtain required solutions. As statued by
Yusuf and et.al., (2014) With the help of group discussion, organization will be able to gather
creative ideas which is beneficial to solve issues and provide better results. They need to develop
list of areas to be considered while taking solution for improving condition for further business
growth.
Control-
It is the last phase of this approach, after identifying problem and solutions, analysing and
measuring data, controlling is the next and most essential step. Management of Range Rover
company must focusing on continuous improvement which help to know that each and every
operation of business going effectively and smoothly in effective manner. With the help of
continuous focus, management will be assure that problem is solve and business will also run
within appropriate way in order to manage quality.
Lean management theory-

that it is the methodology to running the Range Rover and other companies that supports concept
of continuous development or improvement, it is one of the long term approach to work

This approach is being with brief understanding of what value people assigns to services

must add valuable things in their products and remove waste elements so that they can deliver
quality and increase highest level of profitability.
Value streams-
It is totality of goods whole life cycle from raw materials through consumer use of and
eventual disposal of Range Rover vehicles. In order to eliminate waste things, goal of lean
management is be an complete and accurate understanding of value stream. In order to managing
quality and business relationship with supply chain, manager need to eliminate materials,
movements and features that effect on overall management and business value.

Supply chain manager must create value chain without interruption in procedure of production
and state where each and every action is fully in step with other. They must work in order to
manage quality and business relationship with supply chain.
Pull-
Pull phase help to assure flow by making sure that nothing is made over of time, stopping
synchronized flow and building up work in procedure inventory. As per view of Urban, (2015)
pull method dictates that every thing is made and based on customer orders. With the help of
communication, management will be able to identify needs of customers and deliver quality to
them which is beneficial for company success and growth. Efficient way of communication is
required what is needed to each stage in value chain.
Perfection-
Perfection is the last phase of lean management approach, management must march
towards perfect procedure happens step by step as uninterrupted improvement address root

operation, logistic and supply chain management, these problems directly effect on market

technology or less of technological innovation and poor relationship with suppliers, organization
face issue in managing quality and managing business relationship with supply chain. They need
to solve these issues as soon as possible in order to run business efficiently and effectively. All
the negative working environment and activity around workplace bring many challenges for firm
that influence on its financial performance and other as well (Kumar and Rahman, 2016). Thus,
to solve issues in supply chain management in order to managing good relation of business with
suppliers manager will create harmonious and mutually sound connection with their suppliers or
partners which make them able to provide high standards and better quality products to
customers in timely manner. Good supplier relationship permits company to create
opportunities for managing and improving relation in term of performance and productivity. In
simple words, by building the powerful and strong working relations with their suppliers Range
Rover will be able to work efficiently and come up with great results in short period of time.

impact on business growth, position, success and financial performance. In order to solve

bottom line approach is recommended to Range Rover, which they must used to solve issues.

organization over time, it consists of three components: planet, profit and people. It help to
address ethical behaviour of company, social responsibilities, function and activities of operation
management and supply chain management which is the part of expanded scope of firm
(Alhaddi, 2015). Concept of triple bottom line needs that organization responsibility lies with
stakeholders more than shareholders. There are the three phases of TBL approach-
People, social equity bottom line- This phase pertain to beneficial and fare business
practices towards community and labour and region in which the company conducts their
business. In order for managing quality, management of Range Rover must motivate their
workers, conceives the reciprocal social structure in which well being of peoples interest is
interdependent. They need to provide benefits to staff members which help to enhance their
productivity and performance and make them able to provide quality products and services to
customers. They do not endanger or exploit any group of peoples, they need to pay fair salaries
to their employees which support to retain talented people with the for longer time and help to
supply quality goods on time. they must maintain safe work environment around workplace and
tolerable working hours that increase working interest among people (Wise, 2016). Positive work
environment drive all the staff members towards producing quality products and convert raw
materials into ready made products.
Profit economic bottom line- Economic or profit bottom line deals with value of
economic created by Range Rover after eliminating waste. Company need to build effective and
good relationship to its suppliers which help to supply their products effectively and increase

refers to sustainable environmental practices. Range Rover perform effectively and must

their luxury vehicles which is essential for reducing air pollution and contribute to sustainable
environment. Low emission engine discharge low limit of noxious gases from internal
combustion engine which is beneficial for environmental safety and peoples well being. Triple
bottom line endeavour minimize ecological footprint by among other things, they carefully
manage consumption of non renewable and energy and reduce manufacturing useless as well as
rendering waste less toxic before disposing of it in legal and safe manner.
CONCLUSION-
From above, it has been concluded that six sigma and lean management theories has been
used in order to manage quality and relationship of business with supply chain which is
beneficial and useful for the growth and success of business. Range Rover supply chain manager
considers issues in supply chain, operations and logistic management which effect on company
marketing position and reputation. With the help of appropriate solutions they can be able to
solve problems and run business effectively. Furthermore, organization build good relationship
with its suppliers that help to run supply management chain efficiently. Manager will make plans
for implementing advanced technologies within organizational structure which help to manage
and deliver quality to customers.
