IT/IS interventions in an organization: A case
study of Raysut cement company
About the Company
The company Raysut cement company was established in the year of 1984 and it is one of
the biggest cement companies of Oman. On 15th March the company was established but it
started to produce its commercial products from the year of 1984 on 1st July. The company has
promised in providing the best product for its customers and along with that it has also looked
into the matter of serving its customers to the best level. Due to the presence of a good maritime
fleet the company is planning for expanding its business to different parts of the world. The
second part of the assignment consist of the discussion about the various strategies that has been
adopted in the IT transformation by Intel. In this section of the assignment the strategies adopted
by Intel has been critically analyzed after going through the case study.
Expected Deliverables of the assignment
The assignment consists of the discussion about identifying the problems that are being
faced by the company. The problems that are being faced by the company has been identified and
along with this the solutions for tackling all these problems are also provided. The new IT and IS
interventions needed by the company has also been given in this assignment. In the second part
of the assignment the It strategies that has been adopted by Intel has been identified and has been
critically analyzed. This strategy mainly involves the “managing of the IT budgets”, “managing

of the IT assets and the value chain”, “managing It for the business” and “managing IT like a
business”.
Approach towards solution
Literature:
This part of the assignment consists of the discussion about the various problems
associated with the company (Benhelal et al. 2013). All the problems have been discussed in this
portion along with this the part also discusses why there is a need of the new IT/IS interventions
(Uson et al. 2013). After the identification of the problems the solutions are also provided in this
portion of the assignment. In the second part all the strategies have been critically analyzed along
with understanding the needs of Intel. Besides this the New IT transformations that has been
adopted by Intel has been critically analyzed and the benefits of the Intel has also been discussed
along with this.
Software and hardware:
Software: the software that are required for the project for the purpose of tackling all the
problems that the company is facing like software for management of labor, accounts and many
more (Benson 2015).
Hardware
For the purpose of doing heavy works.
For the purpose of controlling the harmful emissions form the company.
For the purpose of handling the machineries involved in the use of the waste products.

The tools involved in the tackling of the problems are the various steps that is involved in
the information system (Gambhir 2013). This involves the transaction processing system which
involves the managing of the various aspects of the company like labor, machineries and many
more, management information system for the purpose of handling the problems by the managers
of the company, decision support system, executive information system and many more.
Potential risks Foreseeable
The potential risks which are associated with the project are as follows:
Management risk: The management risks regarding the management of various issues
like management of the machinery, labor, accounts and many more (Laudon and Laudon 2016).
External risk: This type of risks includes internal as well as the external threats. Along
with this the competition with the other companies and also the risks regarding the various
environmental conditions and many more (Gallagher and Sixsmith 2014).
Financial risk: this risks includes the management of the accounts and the cost required
for the various reasons like the management of the money that is to be provided to the labors, the
money that is required for the purpose of fuel that is required for the various heavy machineries
that are working for the company (Lee and Yu 2012).
