the customers can easily access the application and carry out the specific operations. The user
interface and the look & feel of the application are also essential along with the
functionalities. The re-design of the guest tracker website will be done for the hotel so that it
may succeed in attracting increased number of guests.

will be handled only by the Database

Requirements of the website
There are numerous requirements that are associated with the project of re-designing the
guest tracker application for the hotel. All of these requirements are relevant and have
significance of their own. It is required that the project team maintains focus on all the
requirements categories equally. This is because the inclusion of the functional aspects with
poor UI or performance or lack of security and vice versa will lead to the deterioration of the
end-user experience.
The details of the website requirements are included below.
Functional requirements
The functional requirements that the guest tracker application shall have are included in the
points below.
 The user shall be able to log in to the guest tracker application as a customer or
administrator with valid credentials.
 The customer shall be able to create the booking in the hotel by looking at the room
options as per the desired dates and availability (Alsaleh & Haron, 2016).
 The customer shall be able to make the bookings, if available, and real-time updates
shall be sent by the system to the administrator.
 The administrator shall make the following preferences as per the customer booking
requirements.
o The check-in/check-out details shall be mapped with the customer booking as
per the preference set by the customer.
o The room preference and allocation shall be done to the booking as per the
customer demands.
o The food preference and allocation shall be done to the booking as per the
customer demands.
 The reports shall be generated by the administrator and the application of the filters
shall be done in terms of the desired report content.
