INTRODUCTION
Developing reading comprehension skills is considered as an important as this helps the
students to build their confidence and also improves their academic success (Hung . and Chen,
2018). Present report lay emphasis on the role of reading comprehension and ways to improve
the reading comprehension skills . It also highlights on some barriers of the Reading
comprehension such as Phonemic awareness, Phonics, Fluency Reading ,vocabulary and many
more.
Role of reading comprehension.
Excellent reading comprehension is very crucial as it enhances the effectiveness and
enjoyment of reading and also it assists not only academically but also the professional within
the personal professional life (Lee. And et.al., 2015). For example School environment ,it is
considered as important children that have excellent comprehension skills. As it is mentioned
earlier that reading comprehension is also used within the other subjects such as maths science
and history.
History- Here the students are taught about many significant leaders as benefits throughout such
as Abraham Lincoln ,American civil war and various other important events.
Math students- Students are taught about the various kinds of problems such as word problems
within mathematics. As students who do not have reading comprehension skills ,students will
faces the struggle that describes about what is actually asked and what is said (Zabidin, 2015).
Reading comprehension plays a crucial role as students can understand the concept, and
they can easily improves their quality of education wot the continuous understanding
(Bridgland,. and Takarangi, 2017) .

reports and also explain to them that they are preparing for the College (Rogowsky, Calhoun.
and Tallal,2016).

Thinking before reading assist the students to be selective rather than to trying to comprehend
each and every sentence. They need to read the questions from the book before they are begun
reading as it must helps them when to focus and when to skim it (Bridgland. and

useful in gaining knowledge about many topics. When students are able to understand they
quickly grasp things and apply it in their learning. However, by reading student gets to know
what is useful and not. Besides this, they understand concept in effective way and remember it
for long time. It allows them to inherit more knowledge and skills. Moreover, they make it
understand to others as well. In addition to it, retention power is improved only when reading is
proper (Hung, . and Chen, 2018).
Reading comprehension can be defined as the ability to read out text in clear and
understanding language. It is the process in which the other person must be engage in clearly
reading out text so that it can be understandable by other person. ability to comprehend text is
influenced by readers' skills and their ability to process information. If word recognition is
difficult, students use too much of their processing capacity to read individual words, which
interferes with their ability to comprehend what is read. In this person must also have a good
command over language when reading out loudly in classroom (Rogowsky, Calhoun. and
Tallal,2016).

rate that are depends on the student's grade level that leads to an enhanced level that leads to an
increased reading comprehension (Spiro, Bruce. and Brewer, 2017) .
Reading vocabulary
As per the authors there is a significant effect on the achievement as they have the significant
effect on the achievements as well as this is strongly related to the reading comprehension. As
there is expected from a student no only read a word to words but also makes the meaning of
that particular word. The learners must also able to use as well as understand the identified words
