This assignment focuses on the development of strategies for diagnostic assessment of student reading, including the processes of planning for, monitoring, analysing, and assessing reading progress. The task requires recognising and describing a flexible repertoire of approaches to the teaching of reading in the lower primary English classroom. The assignment includes an introduction that overviews the importance of the Big 5 in the teaching of reading and the importance of assessment for learning.
