Introduction
In the words of Dabbagh and Kitsantas, (2012), social media plays an important role for
providing convenient access of information to the students. It is also beneficial in terms of
developing an effective communication process for transferring the knowledge. The purpose of
this research is to analyze the impact of social media platforms and its uses in knowledge
transferring.
Objectives
To understand the importance of social media platforms in learning
To identify the uses of social media platforms in knowledge sharing
To analyze the issues in case of using social media platforms in education
Rationale
The report is important as technology has brought huge changes in learning trend. Social
media platforms have become effective platforms for sharing the knowledge. It can be assumed
that after conducting the survey, it will become easier for the college authority to focus on
maximizing the access and visibility of the contents by introducing forth modification in the
social media platforms. In case of enhancing the educational programs, the developers can be
able to introduce different educational pictures, contents and videos through social media
platforms, which can help to increase the current capabilities of accounting students. In the
words of Dabbagh and Kitsantas, (2012), by developing an effective interaction process trough
social media platforms, it will become easier for the developers for helping the students in proper
manner. With this initiatives the issues faced by the students and their requirements regarding the
learning content can be understood by the authority. If the authority can be bake to understand

the issues facing by the learners, they will be able develop effective solutions for dealing with
the situation.
Methodology
Both the primary and secondary data collection method have been followed in the
research. Using the random sampling method 100 students have been selecting for survey.
Research limitation
It can be assumed that while conducting the survey, the researcher can face disappointing
behavior from the respondents. It cannot be denied that information which are being collected
during the survey, are totally based on the psychological situation of the respondents. In that
case, bias responses of the student against the college authority can create tough situation for the
researcher to interpret the data in the research project. In order to conduct the research, different
articles and journals need to be viewed by the researcher. In case of limited financial resources, it
will not be easier for the researcher to get the access of expensive journals.
Research findings
Survey analysis
In order to conduct the survey, the information have been gathered from 100 respondents,
which has helped to shed light in understanding the social media utilization process in case of
driving learning outcomes in accounting. It can be assumed that depending on the information,
which have been gathered during the survey can help the authorities for examining how social
media platform can be utilized in Conestoga College. The purpose of this research is to evaluate
threats and opportunities of information system, which can be affected depending on the
utilization process of social media platforms. Among 100 respondents 60% of the total

respondents have admitted that Facebook and Instagram are the social media platforms, which
are being used by them in daily basis. With increasing uses of social media in daily life, the
researcher has analyzed that in order to transfer knowledge to the accounting students, it will be
the easier path for the authority. On the other hand, it is true that after introduction of
technological innovation in social media, it has become an effective tool that can increase
visibility of a subject to the learners. Increasing uses of Instagram has become an important tool
for getting connected with friends. During the survey, 70% of the total respondents in Conestoga
College have agreed that they use Instagram fir getting socially connected with the friends.
Therefore, it cannot be denied that special media has become an effective platform where
the students can share their innovation and creativity, which can help to increase their learning
abilities. The researcher has analyzed, in order to increase engagement of students in the learning
process, the developers needs to focus on sharing knowledge through the social media platforms,
so that the learning process can be interesting for the students. During the survey, the researcher
has analyzed that among 100 respondents 62% of total respondents have said that they have said
that learning information, which have been sent by the developers through social media
platforms have helped in terms of improving their skills. Hence, from the collected information,
it has been analyzed by the researcher that social media platforms have played an important role
for improving the efficiency of the students in Conestoga College.
Importance of social media platforms in education
By supporting this Grayet al., (2013) stated that through the social media platforms the
student get connected with each others, which help to develop their creative skills. Through the
social media platform, the content information, videos and pictures are being provided for better
educational outcomes. By adopting the social media integration techniques, the healthy

interaction process between the teachers and students can be properly maintained (Neiger et al.,
2012). Through the healthy interaction process, it becomes easier for the college authority to
understand the needs and requirements of the students.
As stated by Neiger et al., (2012), through the social media communication platforms, it
will be easier for the educational institutions to share different subject related materials and
information directly to the students. On the other hand, it can also help to maintain a transparent
fees, admission and educational structure to the students and their parents. On the other hand,
Stromquist and Monkman (2014) opined that different career growth opportunities can be shared
by the institution by using the social media platforms. Using the effective ways for utilizing the
social media platforms, the educational institutions can be bale to enhance its educational
outcomes in an appropriate manner.
