ABSTRACT-
In this report will discuss about the reading techniques which student can adopt to improve their
reading ability. This technique helps to increase the determination through their long term goals.
It report also includes the techniques to increase the writing ability.
INTRODUCTION
Reading is an mechanism for interaction that allows a person to change the writing into meaning.
It enables the person who reads to modify a written text into a significant language with proper
understanding, and smoothness, and to cooperate with the particular information. For Reading
effectively students need to adopt some techniques that will help to improve their reading,
listening and writing abilities. (Fisher, 2016)This report provides description of all the techniques
or methodologies student can use to improve their skills. Reading is a great tradition that can
change any individual’s life significantly. It can entertain people, excite and improve knowledge
and experiences described. In this report we will identify the different techniques of reading and
what are the different suggestions students can take to improve their written assignment
MAIN BODY
Strategies to Improve Reading Abilities.
There are 7 main strategies that can be used to improve their reading abilities which will help to
become comprehensive reader and will increase the quality and capacity of outcome that person
will get from after reading.
These strategies are discussed below:
Scanning- Scanning is a reading methodology through which it can be utilized when a
person only running his eyes over a text or statement frequently to understand and he is looking
for, or to find out something that ‘pops’ out at him. This is a usually used reading method for
daily or general reading assignments. Scanning help to understand the brief about the topic or

story so we can easily understand who should be written in the particular story or message.
Scanning with the help of text is a comprehension strategy that is used for collecting various
precise points without checking at the entire text. To highlight the main topics from the book ,
people can skim the part through the brief from starting to ending of chapters of that book or
notes. Scanning is importantly used in reading list of emails and articles and food menus.
(Walny,and et.al., 2017.)
Skimming- skimming is a reading technique used when a person is already aware about the
topic and helps to create glance over the material or story or book to acknowledge what the other
person is looking for. This technique mostly used when a person previously has knowledge of
the text. People can easily skim the material before moving to further reading. Skimming is
mostly use for product or service review, going over a speech last minute and for quick research.
Skimming can save a lot of time by making aware of the key points without entirely
comprehending the entire text.
Effective reading styles: Effective reading wants to get detailed understanding of the message
with the help of this method, the person is actively occupied with the text while reading it.
(Muijselaar, and et. al 2017.)This reading technique should be adopted when a person is reading
complicated message or something which he needs to consider critically about. To read
effectively, he needs to ask relevant questions to himself about the text, and indicate himself on
these questions. And trying to associate with what he is reading about his previous experience
and knowledge, and get notes if it is helpful.
Speed reading: To read speedily it is a mixture of a variety reading techniques. The objective of
reading is essentially to boost the reading speed of the person without compromising the
knowledge of the book or text. It also Identify the words without concentrating on each
information. It is not include to create sounds on all messages or not articulate some expressions
but without wasting time on some phrases than others and Skim the text into in tiny categories. It
also boosts your energy and improves the vocabulary and confidence.

Comprehensive reading: Detailed or comprehensive reading is mainly slow reading technique.
With the help of this method reader can carefully read, absorb, and examine each and every word
significance. To understand the meanings of words in a paragraph to provide deeper
understanding can be time effective and persistence, but in some situation, this is the best
technique for exercise (Gilakjani, and Sabouri, 2016.)
Proposition evaluation: This reading strategy is mainly favorable for non-fiction writing. To use
this technique first need to recognize the pattern of content and create a systematic outline either
in the mind of the person or on balnk paper. After the layout, person have to find all of the valid
recommendations that go with into each section of the format and person have to evaluate the
opinion and propositions and make their own conclusion about the text.
Suggestions that will help students to improve quality of written assignments.
Written assignment can be hard for the students who don't have much habit of writing. But
assignments are very important for student’s life. They need to write effective assignment to gain
more numbers from their teachers. Writing provides voice to our internal thoughts and enables us
to share them with others. It is a form of communication; writing can beat time and is a route to
pass stories from generation to generation. (Durga, and Rao, 2018) To improve anyone’s
reading is to have them write. Writing concentrates on students on choices, comprehension,
technicians, improving their perspective about every situation and expressing their perspective to
others. There are some suggestions students can adopt to improve their writing skills.
Usage of correct material
When students get their writing assignment, they have to make sure about the usage of
information and news in their assignments that should be completely valid. They need to Cross
check all the information from different source by utilizing them in their paper. While
completing a research they have to ignore the 3rd party blogs and rather they should get the data
from realistic sources and authorized websites. They can also use their library to get
information. Students have to make sure that they are using relevant data for the assignment. If

correct and effective assignment it requires a lot of research and patience.
Recognize the purpose:
To write down an extraordinary project on paper, students have to first identify the
