Meaning of diversity
The diversity is the degree of differences in analyzing and identifying the features, aspects and
attributes among the group members including differences in ethnic and racial classification,
gender, age, religion, physical abilities, philosophy, sexual orientation, gender identity,
socioeconomic and intelligence. By using diversity, Real journeys has become the biggest and
unique maritime training employer behind the Neavy. By using diversity, it has been able to
remove and reduce the ample of barriers that are raised at the workplace (Kulik, 2014). The
company wants to motivate and diverse workers looking for career development opportunities to
drive and manage their own career and potential within the organization.
Diversity relates to HRM
It has been analyzed that diversity is related to the HRM. It affects the overall functions of the
human resource management. Diversity in the workplace also gives opportunities to the
companies in order to identify and analyze the new candidates for performing roles and
responsibilities. Real journey Company has appointed a mentor to keep an eye on the employees
and to analyze the skills of the workers with the help of diversity. The firm entails workforce of
550 companies out of which 70% New Zealand and 30 percent overseas workers. By using
diversity, HRM has been able to operate and flourish the business in China, Australia, Korea and
Japan. One of the significant reasons behind a diverse workforce is cultural intelligence. In this
way, diversity is interconnected with human resource management (Lu, Chen, Huang & Chien,
2015).

culture can be maintained by the firm with the help of diversity at the workplace. The employees
are received support from the company’s management with the help of diversity. The company is
facilitated by the Co-workers in the workplace. Apart from this, employees are able to support
learners where English is a second language and ensure that vessels are safer. It is noted that
diverse cultural perspectives can encourage innovation and creativity within the organization.
Greater opportunity for the professional and personal growth can be rendered by the firm
(Downey, Werff, Thomas & Plaut, 2015).

The workplaces have largely homogenous because it offers employers and managers a pool of
potential employees that share social and cultural norms and values. If the Real Journey follows
homogenous workplaces then it will help in individualism versus collectivism. They focus on the
personal achievement and competition. Individualism provides higher productivity when they are
working alone. In collectivism, people do work together in order to attain common goals and
objectives. The homogenous workplaces also help in maintaining discipline at the workplace. It
