Report
AI Summary
This report analyzes the requirements for a Real-Time Glucose Monitoring (RTGM) system developed by AAA Medical Devices. The system utilizes a wristband glucose monitor that transmits data via Bluetooth to smartphones. The target users are individuals with diabetes, and the healthcare industry. The report focuses on the fact-finding techniques used to gather system requirements. These techniques include sampling existing documentation, databases, and forms to analyze current data and identify needs. Prototyping is used to create a working model of the system for user testing and refinement. Interviews with potential users and stakeholders are conducted to gather qualitative data, clarify requirements, and identify system weaknesses. The report highlights the importance of these techniques in ensuring the successful development and deployment of the RTGM system.

IT FUNDAMENTALS
An information system is the part of ICT, which is utilized by any company for
interacting with the technology to ensure effective business processes. These are responsible
for reducing complexities of business process execution to a high level (Laudon and Laudon
2016). AAA medical devices have developed a specific glucose monitor that can be
embedded within a wristband. This particular device is eventually powered by the respective
body heat of a human being and it could easily sense the glucose level from minimum
quantity of perspirations.
They even want to develop a RTGM or real time glucose monitoring system for the
device. The software comprises of a unique information system and hence it could be
accessed on smart phones with the core capability of Bluetooth technology. The potential
users of this particular monitoring system are those, who are detected with high glucose or
have a tendency of diabetes. It would allow them in providing real time information about
their glucose count in less than a minute. Apart from the patients, the entire healthcare
industry will be benefitted with this device as the doctors and patients would be able to use it
for saving their time.
The major and the most significant requirements of the RTGM include a sensor, a
transmitter to send data to the smart phone through Bluetooth and an alarm for notifying
users regarding their glucose level. Three distinctive fact finding techniques that could be
utilized for successful collection of the requirements of this new real time glucose monitoring
system are as follows:
i) Sampling of Existing Documentation, Databases and Forms: It is the most
effective fact finding technique for analysis of the RTGM to collect the facts from their
documentation (Lohr 2019). Several types of documents are present for collecting these facts,
like emails, patient complaints, problem performance review, program documentation and

many more. The system analyst can utilize sampling techniques for organizing
documentation and with the help of stratification, variance of sampling data would be
deducted. Moreover, randomization would be helpful in selecting sample data randomly for
glucose data.
ii) Prototyping: The second effective fact finding technique to collect requirements of
RTGM is prototyping. It is technique for sampling of a small working model and is
completely related to pre designing of that specific information system (Devadiga 2017).
Successful deployment of prototyping could be developed within SDLC while analysis of the
facts. Hence, the users of AAA would be able to test or understand RTGM before final
deployment. Moreover, the high development costs would be reduced with this glucose
monitoring system.
iii) Interviews: Another significant and important fact finding technique for analysis
of the RTGM would be interviews. The major purpose of this interview would be finding,
verifying, clarifying facts and identification of the requirements as well as gathering ideas.
The users or patients should be interviewed for this purpose and it would ensure that the
weaknesses are being identified in an efficient manner (King, Horrocks and Brooks 2018).
With such distinct identification of weaknesses, AAA would be able to develop the system
efficiently.
