CHAPTER 4: ANALYSIS
4.1 Introduction
The research is conducted with a purpose of identifying the reasons for the decline of the
philanthropic contribution to non-profit organisations. The country in focus is the United States
with emphasis on the impact it may have on the non-profit organisations. The non-profit
organisations are based on Massachusetts and the concepts related to corporate philanthropy are
identified so that survival tactics of the non-profit organisations in the United States is explored.
This includes identifying the obstacles as well as the impact of the decline of corporate
philanthropy in the United States. Recommendations are also made so that the no-profit
organisations can improve its position in the business.
In this particular chapter of the dissertation the results of the interviews are provided
along with an analysis of the findings from the interviews. The trustworthiness and validity of
the research is stated along with a summary of the chapter. The interview is conducted among 6
to 10 managers of non-profit organisations in Massachusetts with the application of qualitative
method of data collection. The managers chosen have an experience of over five years in non-
profit organisations. At the same time themes are developed and analysed that are based on the
research questions and the literature review.
