Internal Analysis
7s Framework
Rebel is one of the leading sports retailers in Australia, which offers a wide array of sports
products like the sports apparel, footwear and leisure equipment. The organization was
established in the year 1985, headquartered in Sydney. Jeff Bezos was the founder of the
business and since then the organization expanded through quality value propositions
(Superretailgroup.com.au 2018). The section will be utilizing McKinsey’s 7s business model in
order to identify the different capabilities and competencies of the business.
Structure- The organization has expanded through the establishment of around 160 stores
across Australia, which has helped in the sustainable approach of the business. The
organization follows an open structure where the employees are encouraged to interact
directly with the hierarchy of management through feedback. It has helped the
organization in upholding the transparency of the functions as per the objectives of the
same.
System- Vassileva and Campillo (2014) stated that the Company makes sure that they are
paying the major attention to the customers. The inclusion of wide array of products in
the offerings of the business has helped in maintaining the efficacy of the functions as per
the objectives of the business. This enables the customers to make their choices from a
wide range of products.
Style- The transparency in operations maintained by the managers has helped the
organization in imbibing a friendly culture so that the employees can work with a proper
team spirit. In other words, the managers try to imbibe a passionate and friendly culture

with their team members so that they can respect and cooperate with each other (Tekleab
and Quigley 2014).
Staff- The lack of skilled workforce in the organization has affected the innovative
approach of the business. However, the lower turnover rate in the organization has helped
the business in balancing the operations as per the objectives of the same. Therefore, it is
a common fact that they will need more staffs. They always value openness among all
their staff members before taking any important business decisions.
Skill-All the employees at Rebel sports are well versed in the domain of sports. The
collaborative functions of the employees and positive work approach have helped the
business in making its expansion in the international markets. They give in all their effort
to satisfy the customers. The managers also make sure that there is an openness among
their team members and they follow both staff-centric and customer-centric approach.
Strategy-One of the best strategy used by them is the innovation-driven strategy. Rebel
sports are aware of the fact that they are many technological and modern scientific
innovations that are taking place every single day (Chuang and Lin 2017). So, they keep
on upgrading themselves and bring in all the advanced scientific approaches.
Shared values- Rebel sports imbibe values like honesty, passion, integrity, openness,
commitment, and other such values. In other words, they want to create a positive work
culture so that their employees can work with a positive spirit and can stay a hundred
percent efficient in their work.
Current approach
Therefore, from the above analysis it can be stated that currently, the company is
following the innovation approach so that they can upgrade themselves from time to time. Sports

are one of the favorite activities of Australians. So, there is always a great demand for the sports
products. At the same time, they are also trying to target at the low-income groups (Vassileva
