Dear Mr. ABC,
I am very pleased to recommend my colleague, Mr XYZ for an opportunity to pursue a PhD
degree in Cyber Security from your esteemed institution. I am the Head of the Department of
Computer Science at PQR University and for many years have worked with Mr XYZ as a fellow
faculty member. As a lecturer, he is a fantastic presence in the class, thinking thoroughly for his
students. He has recommended various new plans for study for undergraduate level, which has
become a benchmark for undergraduate studies in the Southern Area. He has proved his worth as
a valued employee at our university by successfully completing his duties as Co-Chairman of the
Curriculum Committee of our establishment. Apart from his regular responsibilities, he has also
been an active participant in designing courses related to Cyber Security study at the graduate
level for our university.
Mr XYZ is a talented educator who takes care of all his students’ needs. He has been known to
extra tutorials especially for students who fall back in his regular classes, although anyone who
wants to, is allowed to attend these sessions. He is a caring human being and is diligent in
whatever work he does, be it teaching or studying. He has been known to be a very methodical

person, who gives his best effort when under stressful situations. He is not afraid to take risks
which he thinks would eventually give fruitful results.
Mr XYZ is known for supervising multiple undergraduate level projects for his students and one
of them has even been awarded the best project of 2018 in the entire university.
