Introduction
The construction industry is very important in subsidizing economic progress and growth in
developing countries. This is the process of building or setting up a house, infrastructure,
building, complex, etc. The recycling of wood is necessary as this saves trees and reduces the
cutting down of the trees. The reuse of the wood can be beneficial to the society in many ways
such as in building material, for landscaping, for the production of the paper and also helps as
fuel (Nadarason and et.al. 2018). The present scenario depicts the recycle of wood in the
construction industry, the recycled wood can be helpful in the manufacture as by this the industry
would be able to build the walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and the furniture, etc. The
present report is going to cover the main elements of the project specification, also describe the
construction project taken in the report. Along with this, it will describe the timescales, cost, and
required resources for the completion of the project. In addition to this, the report will also be
going to include all the stages of the project
LO1
P1 Select an appropriate construction-based project, giving reasons for your choice.
The construction industry is very crucial for the development of the economy. The approaches of
the sustainable building are having the great ability to form an operative involvement to the
supportable expansion. Thus, by this concept, the project title is recycled of wood in the
construction industry. This is because the recycling of wood in the home building will result in
the reduction of cutting down trees, as wood is one of those natural resources which can be
renewable. This is prevalent in our daily or everyday lives such as making the wooden frames,
newspapers, furniture, bridges, floors, fuelwood and organic chemicals.
The recycling of wood is very beneficial in the construction industry as the production of wood
is having very less energy which is called embodied energy (Khatib, J. ed., 2016). Along with
this, the wood can be a substitute for the materials which are having a very huge amount of fossil
fuels to form.

The main reason for using this as a construction project is that timber is the one which is used for
construction in all over the world. This is helpful in building small and large buildings.
The main issue in the recycling of wood which is to be discussed between the contractors and the
owner is that the recycling includes the burning chemicals and creates harmful and dangerous
by-products and radiations.
The factor of cost is totally depending on the planning, designing, and maintenance during the
recycling of the wood. This is also relying on the installation charge and equipment used to
recycle the wood for the construction.

P2 Identify the main components of a project specification.
The project specification is the deep explanation of the objectives for the project development.
This consists of the goals, functionality and the information required for the development of the
team in order to fulfill the aim of the user. This is required and essential because the necessities
for the construction will get managed as the codes of constructing and the guidelines and
principles of the government. The constituents which are included in the specifications are -
Substructure - This is the topmost part of the construction project in which it is built
below the ground level of the building. This consists of those things which are to be built
at the top such as the lower floor, plinth, and footing of the building. Superstructure - This is that part of the construction project which is to be built at the
above of the ground level. This included flooring, windows, doors, etc. Fixtures and Fittings - This is said as the things which are to be fixed by the help of
screws and nails. This includes benches, windows, cupboards, desks, etc. Finishing - This is the last stage where the finishing is to be given to the floor, wall and
the ceilings.

LO2
P3 Identify potential resources, costs and timescales.
Resources are required and necessary to carry out the task of the project. This may include the
individuals, equipment's, fund, facilities, etc., in order to complete the project ineffective time
frame. The resources are planned by the project manager in order to satisfy the need of the client
and to meet the objectives of the construction project. The resources which are required in the
construction project are tools, equipment, plant, human resources, materials, and products.
Resource planning is the combination of the resources required and management of the project.
This states the project manager about the things which are required for the successful completion
of the construction project (). This is the plan which also takes care of the teamwork.
The resources which are required for the recycling of wood in the construction industry are
stated as below -
Hazardous waste woods
Burning and Organic Chemicals
Infected waste
Break wood sticks
Cost of the project - This is the amount which is to be required for the resources as well as for
the successful completion of the project.
Planning for the cost - This is about to plan an effective budget which satisfies all the
requirement of the project (Ganiron Jr, 2015). In this, the estimation of the amount is to be done
by the project manager hat how much is going to be spent on the project and also set a goal line
for the prospect cost flow.
The main cost factors which require the planning are as below-
Material
Indirect cost

Time scale - This is the term which is going to define the exact time required to complete the
project of the recycling of wood for the construction industry. This can also be said as the chart
which defines the starting to end phase of the project. This is not used for the specific field. The
duration and rate of time of the project completion are defined in the time scale.
Steps to complete the project on time are mentioned below -
Gather all the required resources related to the project
Identify all the items one-by-one including the email
Open the MS project which is the tool of project management
Create the process and outline each the steps which are required to finish each task.
Then organized it
Set the time for the review and just do the project.

P4 Describe a range of appropriate techniques for generating realistic potential
solutions.
The issues occurred randomly and are not planned at any time. They are just the opportunities for
the project manager for improving the management. If the issues are small then they can be
resolved easily by the project manager but on the other hand, if the issues are large then they
need some of the extra efforts to get resolved. In the present scenario, the agile project
management technique or methodology has been used, which is described below. There are some
of the methods given in order to resolve the issues occur during the completion of the project -
Ascertain the issues or problems - The individual must be sure about the issue occur and
always keep the one thing in the mind that different individuals are having a different
mindset, so reflect accordingly. Also, the problems must be listed as per the interest.
Know the interest of each person - The main step is to know the interest of each of the
individual and must distinguish the names by listing the solutions (Ganiron, 2015). The
project manager must act as a good listener so that they can be able to understand each
individual problem.
Make the list of all the solution - This is the time to bring out the best one from the list of
the idea. This selection of the best one will depict the creative mind of the project
manager.
Evaluate the solutions - The assessment of the separations is divided from the selection of
the solution. Also, ascertain all the negative and positive impacts.
Choose one of the best solutions - This is the time to find out and select the one which is
beneficial for the project and bundle out the other selections in order to find a satisfactory
choice.
Make the conformity file - Now make the file which includes all the data and information
along with some recommendations and never depend on the memory.
Evaluation, monitoring, and possibility - This is the method in which it is necessary to
make some of the solutions for the future as changes occur randomly. The opportunities
are prepared for the assessment of the settlement and for their execution.

Agile Methodology - This is the project management techniques which are based upon the
centered approach. This technique divided the project work into small sections by doing
effective planning, continuous improvement and encouraging the team. The small sections
are known as iterations. This technique is used in the projects of software development which
includes common repetitions and performed by highly and small cooperative teams. This
methodology is having some of the benefits that why the project manager uses this technique
for the successful completion of the project -
Figure 3 : Agile Methodology
This methodology is providing faster development as in this the testing is to be done at
every single module. Also, each module is handled by the single team members and they
are very much known about their contribution to the project. Thus by this, the
development of the project becomes faster.
This methodology provides the best quality as each module becomes error free at each
stage after testing. This methodology does not test the entire project at the end and that’s
the main reason why the best quality is to be served to the user.

P5 Discover the strategies of project management in order to determine suitability
for the project.
Project management is the process of managing all the task of the project from the initiation to
the ending by using the structured and effective methodology. The main aim of project
management is to achieve the goal of the project. Project management predicts all the issues
occur during the completion of the project and resolve them in an organized way so that the
project gets finished successfully. There are about eight strategies of project management which
are defined as below -
1. Finalize project Details - Before starting the project, it is necessary to define all the
stakeholders and also understand their expectations from the project. The project manager
must define the project scope along with the roles and duties assigned to the team
members. The project manager must define a set of plan and goal of the project. The time
scale must be designed by the project manager so the estimated time should be measured
for the completion of the project.
2. Set clear expectations - Another strategy of project management is to set clear
expectations. This is necessary that each team member must know about the task assign
to them of the project. Also, the project manager must be clear about all the team
members who are directly or indirectly involved in the completion of the project and also
responsible for the entire task performed in the project (8 Strategies for Successful
Project Management, 2019). The team members must know about their deliverables so it
becomes easy for the project manager to produce accountability. Along with this, it is
also crucial that all the internal team members must be clear about the expectations and
the project manager also has the responsibility to inform all the stakeholders about the
project.
3. Choose the right team and system - After having the clear expectations, the task is to be
assigned to the team members, so it is the responsibility of the project manager to have
all those members in the team which are highly qualified, having the skills, personalities,
and talent to perform the task of the project. This is the duty of the project manager that
