INTRODUCTION
Self-reflection helps in gaining insights about on behaviour, knowledge and values to an
individual. It also helps in improving the performance in studentship, work life and outside of it.
This increases the self-awareness and develops better understanding of an individual to see
things (Wolff, and et. al., 2017). This is a reflective report in which I provide reflection on my
own performance during group presentation and in module. It includes reflective statement
which depicts my learning, aspects which needs improvement along with the ways to apply
learning in future. It also includes information about development areas and an action plan is
prepared to develop weak areas in future.
MAIN BODY
Reflection on my own performance during group presentation as well as in the module
Reflection can be stated as an act of thinking about own self, behavior and feelings along
with the reasons which may lie behind them. Reflecting on my performance help me in exploring
personal experiences, events and feelings. It renders me with an opportunity to reconsider my
feelings, events, situations or thoughts from a new and fresh perspective and gaining insights on
that. It helps me in developing my skills as well as reviewing their effectiveness. I am a student
learning in the module and assigned with a portfolio course work in which I need to reflect on
my performance along with developing targets which are the main aspects of preparation of
success. The title of my module is "preparation for success" in which I am assigned with the task
to reflect on performance in my group presentation and in module (Örnek, and Ayas, 2015).
During undertaking the course, each individual in the classroom was assigned with some
task by the tutor and I was also assigned with a task to develop group presentation on success.
This presentation was required to include what the success is all about and how an individual can
accomplish it in his or her studentship. When I assigned with the task initially, I got nervous and
started to lose my confidence level as I have less knowledge about how to prepare and give a
presentation. Apart from this, my group working skills are also not good and I never performed
in group before. So, I was little hesitated also about how I performed in the group and
accomplish the task in an effective way (Latinjak, and et. al., 2018). But, as I have to perform the
task assigned to me, I have no option. When I started to work in the group, I realized that my
group members were very helpful and always helped me whenever I needed their help. They

Each individual had equal roles and responsibilities to be performed in the group. My
responsibility is to gather data related to the topic and develop presentation slides. The topic on
which I required to collect data is "Success". All the information on the topic required to collect
online but, I faced difficulties in that as my research skills was not so effective and I haven't any
knowledge about the sources which I can use to collect information on success (Seloraji, and Eu,
2017). At that time, my group members helped me in identifying the authenticated and
unauthenticated sources and collecting all the information appropriately. While collecting the
data, I learnt so many things. I learnt that attaining success in both personal and professional life
is very necessary.
In addition to this, success can be referred as the status of having accomplished an
objective or aim. Being successful means accomplishment of planned goals and desired visions.
It can be depicted as certain social status which defines a prosperous individual that could also
get fame for his or her favorable outcome. According to me, success is defined by who the
individual is and who he or she aspire to be. Each individual measures the success in different
manner. In present society, individuals are comparing the success of each other, but the goals
which an individual set for himself or herself can only be accomplished by own perseverance
and hard work. Defining success provide an individual with own sense of motivation and
purpose to conquer the barriers or obstacles which are ahead. Apart from this, I also got learning
about different ways through which an individual can accomplish success in his or her student
life.
I learnt that in context of studentship, success can be attained through keeping studies as first
priority, setting smart goals, proper management of time, paying attention to what tutors teach,
taking participation in the classroom activities, stay committed to studies, studying in group,
avoiding distractions, do not compare with others and learning from the mistakes (Tan, Koh, and
Kokkonen, 2016). All these are the ways through which an individual can get success in his or
her student life. Apart from this, I learnt that time management is very crucial aspect of the
student life as it enables me to do more work in less time. Moreover, by taking participation in
the classroom activities, it helped me in developing good relationship with my tutor as well as
classmate. I learnt that paying attention to what the tutors taught and studying in the group can

good in working in group as my skills to work in team are ineffective. Due to this, I was not able
to work effectively in the team during the group presentation and module. I faced various
difficulties in terms of trust issues, my roles and responsibilities, ineffective coordination etc.
Initially, I did not felt that I am the part of group as each member in the group has different
opinions which created various difficulties while working in the team. There were several issues
arise because of difference in views and opinions. However, some of my team members were
good and understand the things properly. They helped me a lot at the time when the conflicts
arise in the group and that helped me in working in coordination and cooperation with other
members effectively. But, I need to work upon my teamwork skills and improve them
(Suprayitno, and et. al., 2020).
In addition to this, the another area in which I lack includes ineffective communication
skill. I faced difficulties while working in the group during the group presentation because of my
less effective communication. I was not able to communicate to my team members in proper way
and clearly. Due to ineffective communication, I faced difficulties in make my team members
understand my views and opinions regarding the particular thing in clear way. Ineffective
communication sometimes led to create misunderstanding among the team members because of
which some of the activities were not performed timely. So, I felt that I need to work upon my

knowledge base and make me able to accomplish success in studentship, personal and
