This assignment is a reflective journal exploring a student's experiences in a community service organization, focusing on the development of professional skills. INTRODUCTION
This present reflective study is going to show importance of analysing strengths and
weaknesses by working in an organization with different types of patients. It will also show
importance of communication, team working public speaking, integrity and others skills for
working in community service organization in an effective manner.
MAIN BODY
Reflection on observed interaction between health team member
While working in community service organization I learned so many things and evaluated
my own skills as well as weaknesses. There were several situations occur and in one of them I
observed interaction between health team members in which I found that for making
communication effective and better we all require communication and active listening skills and
well as team working skills. In observing and interaction between health team members like
doctors, managers and others I found that different people have different perceptions about one
thing and for taking better decision regarding patients’ treatment we all have to agree upon them.
In such situation because of my introvert nature I was facing problems in sharing my own views
but on the other hand, I found out that I have good active listening skills and by listening to all I
learned so many different things which helped me out in understanding importance of
communication skill. So, overall I can say that I am lacking in public speaking skill and good in
active listening (Jahromi and et.al., 2016).
Reflection on reaction to specific sights, sounds, smells and noises
In the context of Working in community service organization I can say that it is not an easy
task as we have to treat several types and critical patients and different patients have different
behaviours and nature. So dealing with them in an effective and polite manner is one of the
critical tasks. While working in such voluntary organization I faced different situations such as
listening different noise, smell and sight. I got to know that our senses when they work
collaboratively makes us mind able to better understand surrounding (Yohana, 2020). I listened

several different types of noise like children crying because of pain, noise of relatives of patients
when they become emotional, seeing people when they face problems in moving their body,
difficulties in walking and others. Smell of medicines was everywhere and initially I found it
disgusting as I often washed my hands. But after sometimes I understood feelings of patients and
that time I realized that I am emotional and have integrity which made me able to understand
pain of others and providing better treatment and making them feel comfortable.
Reflection on experience by putting down patients for the first time, taking vital signs and all
Working in community service organization was my dream as I wanted to work for people
who needed help of us but this task is not that easy as I used to think. When first time I put down
patient on bed and took vital signs and when I took all details of patients then I felt mixed
feelings of fear and excitement. I was excited and pleased to perform this role and helping other
but along with it I had fear of making mistakes. Some patients did not interact with me in an
effective manner, some was very cooperative and from that I learned that it happens because of
the pain through which they suffer from and it makes them uncomfortable and irritated. For the
first time I become nervous and it is my weakness that I easily become stressed and working
under pressure is my weakness which I need to improve because working in such organizations
require this skill.
Reflection on situation when me and nurse made a difference in clients day
There are some situations happen while working in hospitals which show our success such
as: Making patients feel comfortable and pleased and it is one of the main sign which shows our
success and effectiveness. While working in community system organization me and my nurse
was given a patient with depression and handling that patient was difficult task. But I found that
team working is one of the main key of success as Nurse and I worked together in making that
patients’ feel comfortable by finding out effective ways and strategies and collaboratively we
both got succeed in it. That time I realized and found that I have an effective team working skill
and it plays an important role (Soukup and et.al., 2018). By working collaboratively and in a
team we made differences in clients’ day as we observed that client started to interact with other
patients and started to feel happy.

Conclusion
From the above study it has been summarized that evaluation of strengths and weaknesses
played a vital role. It makes an individual able to perform their activities in an effective manner
and also improving areas in which they are not good. It has discussed several situations in which
people can know their strength and improve their skills.
