Community Leadership
Community leadership becomes an important part in the development as changing
communities create more demand for community leaders (Lamm, carter and Lindsey,2017). In
my opinion I can be a community leader as there are some traits or strengths in me that help me
to be a community leader. Some of traits are long term vision, ability to solve issues and
negotiate between two people so that with concern mutual agreement can be made. The goal and
vision or framing idea is the first important component of community leadership process. I think
I have quality to see each and every aspect of situation and develop a long term vision.
However, on the other side second most important component is mobilizing resources,
considering this I felt that I need to develop more understanding about how changes need to be
implemented successfully so that resources can utilized effectively with shared concern. I am not
good at managing others and to implement thoughts into actions. This is the area that I want in to
develop.
In order to do so I can focus on three aspects in order to turn my vision into actions. The
aspects that I will focus on include program’s resources, expected outcomes and activities to be
performed. I will focus on my vision and then prepare an action plan that includes mobilizing
resources, and building social capital. With that I will make sure that I can turn my vision into
actions with that I will develop ability in myself to transform vision into action and to achieve
second component of community leadership process.
Further, in order to be a community leader some of traits are present in me and some I
want to develop in near future so that I can achieve my vision of “managing diversified

communities with harmony”. Some of leadership traits that I possess include risk taking ability,
active listening skills and communication skills, long term vision, accountability and honesty and
courage. On the other side the abilities that I need to focus on includes awareness about
diversified culture and languages, attitude to help others and ability to influence others.
In order to grow or develop these skills I will set some goals for myself. The goals that I
set for myself are learning of different languages and culture for understanding and making
connection with people of different communities will become part of social activities and event
in order to develop skills to influence others or mainly people of two different communities
(Fritsch, Rasmussen, & Chazdon, 2018). Hence, I will work on attaining these goals that help me
to come one step ahead in the process of community leadership and with that I can be an
effective community leader. I felt that the role of community leader make a difference in the
society with that the society will grow and expand in the right manner.
