REFLECTION
I am glad to get an opportunity to conduct research on the topic relationship between job
satisfaction, work-life balance & organizational commitment, on employee performance, in
international project (Anderson, 2020). The existing research was based on the secondary
sources of the data collection within which I have selected a wide number of sources in order to
collect data. I have examined that I have developed with a variety of skills as well as abilities and
some of these skills consist of critical and analytical thinking skills, time management skills,
problem solving skills, decision making skills, communication skills, researching skills and
many more. I have also made an analysis that the development of these skills within me has
provided assistance to me a lot in carrying out the research to investigation for the purpose of
reaching out to the overall conclusion in a very effective as well as efficient manner (Bass and
et.al.,2020). During conducting the research, I have also evaluated that I am lacking behind in
some of the aspects and because of which it has created a barrier for me to reach out to the
potential outcomes in a successful and great manner. I have founded that I am poor at
presentation skills, team-working skills, etc. which has created a barrier to me in the path of
achieving the goals along with accomplishing the research within a set deadline. In order to make
improvements for the same and effectively developing my weak areas, I have attended more and
more seminars and public gathering so that it could provide assistance to me in enhancing as well
as enriching my skills and abilities. Through conducting this research, I have understood that the
function of job satisfaction is very significant within the process of motivating the human
resources of an organisation in order to improve the performance of the organisation as a whole.
With the support of this existing research, I have analysed that there are some of the challenges
that occur at time of providing motivation to the employees of the organisation. However, later I
analysed different methods that provide assistance to the company or an individual to enhance
the performance of the business or itself as well as in order to overcome the challenges in an
effective and successful way. At time of conducting the research, I have also faced various issues
and some of these are associated with the management of resources as well as time. I was needed
to accomplish the investigation through completing the given activities of the research within a
set period of time which was very difficult for me as earlier I was not able to manage the
activities within the given time period. For the purpose of managing such issues, I have prepared
a Gantt Chart which has helped me a lot in accomplishing the variety of activities within set

deadlines. The tool of Gantt Chart has provided assistance to me in getting things know about the
beginning as well as ending point of every activity in order to avoid delay (Bitencourt-Ferreira
and de Azevedo, 2018). The learnings or the experiences that I have gained through conducting
the research on the topic relationship between job satisfaction, work-life balance &
organizational commitment, on employee performance, in international project can be better
explained or discussed with the help of Gibbs Reflective Cycle. This is a kind of learning cycle
has facilitated me in conducting the research in a more effective as well as efficient manner. The
use of Gibbs Reflective Cycle has facilitated me in the process of attaining the set goals as well
as objectives of the research in a very appropriate manner. The model of Gibbs Reflective Cycle
was introduced by Graham Gibbs in the year 1988. This type of learning cycle has assisted me a
lot in gaining the learning or experience from the situations that have experienced by me at time
of conducting the investigation. There are five major stages within the Gibbs Reflective Cycle
which has provided assistance to me in thinking on the topic relationship between job
satisfaction, work-life balance & organizational commitment, on employee performance, in
international project. The explanation of these different stages of Gibbs Reflective Cycle is given
as follows in relation to the research that is conducted on the above discussed topic:
Description: This is the first stage of Gibbs Reflective Cycle that will provide assistance
to me in getting the detail of the research that is conducted on the topic relationship
between job satisfaction, work-life balance & organizational commitment, on employee
performance, in international project. At this stage of the respective learning cycle, I have
described or identified that the function of job satisfaction plays a crucial role in the
process of motivating the human resources of an organisation which will further help
them in improving the level of their performance (Deep and et.al.,2020). In context to the
personal development, I have developed with a variety of skills as well as the abilities
such as communication skills, problem solving skills, decision making skills, time
management skills, critical and analytical thinking skills. Along with it, at this stage of
Gibbs Reflective Cycle, I founded that I am lacking behind in presentation skills and
team-working skills as I was not able to present my ideas and opinions to the potential
participants and market share on the topic upon which the research is going to be
conducted. Hence, in this way the first stage of description has facilitated the researcher

in gaining the experience from the reality that happened at time of conducting research
(Reljić, Pajnkihar and Fekonja, 2019).
Feelings: This is the second stage of Gibbs Reflective Cycle which states the different
ways within which the investigator feels at time of conducting the investigation in a more
systematic manner. At this stage of the respective learning cycle, I have felt that there are
some of the concepts and aspects which are not clear and understandable to me before
conducting the research. Because of which, I was little nervous regarding whether I
would be able to conduct the research in a proper and effective manner or not. In relation
to the personal context, I have felt that there are few skills at which I am poor and these
include presentation skills and team-working skills. However, at time of conducting the
investigation, I felt that I would be able to conduct the investigation in an appropriate
manner through concentrating on the areas at which I am poor. At last, I have conducted
the research on the topic given with the support of my strengths and effective skills I have
possessed in a successful manner (Deep, Salleh and Othman, 2019). Now, after
conducting the entire research, I was feeling very good, proud and appreciable that I have
accomplished the research on time and in a great way.
Evaluation: It is the third stage of Gibbs Reflective Cycle and at this stage, I have
evaluated the significance of conducting research within the market. In context to the
topic, I have also evaluated that the function of job satisfaction plays a major role in the
process of improving the level of the performance of employees. Along with this, I
evaluated that there are some of the challenges that are to be faced by company while
motivating its employees. However, there are some strategies to overcome those
challenges. In terms of the research conducted, I have evaluated that I have been evolved
with a set of skills as well as abilities that helped me in conducting the research
effectively and will also facilitate me in my future period of time (Fathelrahman, 2019).
Analysis: In addition to the above discussed stages of Gibbs Reflective Cycle, the stage
of analysis facilitated me in interpreting the methods of the research that have been used
in the process of carrying out the investigation in a successful manner. At the time of
conducting the research, I have also analysed that managing my time in accomplishing
different activities is one of the crucial aspect as it has supported me in presenting the

best quality of the information regarding the challenges as well as strategies in context to
the chosen topic (Glassburn, McGuire and Lay, 2019).
Conclusion: It is the last stage of Gibbs Reflective Cycle which outlines the approaches
as well as ways within which the research has been conducted effectively. From the
above experience, it has been concluded that the proper structure of Gibbs Reflective
Cycle has supported me in the process of conducting the research in a great way (Nayak,
2022). The appropriate structure of the research with the help of this learning cycle has
also provided assistance to me in the process of evolving a combination of the skills and
abilities as well as has also improved my overall personality through gaining the
understanding of different topics and concepts. In such manner, I have conducted the
research in an appropriate and effective manner and achieved the set goals as well as
objectives of the investigation.
