The film “S.O.S (Save Own Self)” created by me and my team mates is about the evil
of cyber-bullying that female university students often face which propels them to depression
and other kinds of mental problems. During the first film that I undertook to create I found
that over 80% of the females using online social networking websites are subjected to one
form of bullying or the other (Baldry, Farrington and Sorrentino 2017). This essay will
discuss about the knowledge that I gained during the composition of the film and also
throughout the entire course work itself.
“Save Own Self”, although directed specifically at the experience of the female
gender over the online social networking websites aspired to shed significant amount of light
on the evil of cyber bullying itself rather than just the experiences of the female university
students. The film highlight the trauma that the female university students had to undergo like
depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies and other mental problems because of cyber bullying.
This becomes apparent from the section of movie wherein she uploaded the video of her
losing a game in public and “This leads to people……mean texts”. The adverse effects of this
cyber bullying and the impact that it has on the mental health of the protagonist of the movie
becomes apparent in the section of the movie wherein “She refuses helps from her best
friend…..overdosed on drugs and passes out”. Recent researches have shown that talking and
also discussing the incident of cyber bullying with family members, friends and therapists has
really worked for the various victims (Forgeard and Kaufman 2016). Thus, she finally seeks
the help of her mother for the resolution of the problem she was facing.
The concepts of creativity, design and innovation helps the individuals to perform
similar kind of job roles in a much effective manner (Chen and Hou 2016). The use of these
concepts helps the individuals to gain a sustainable amount of competitive leverage over
others and offers them a better chance of gaining success (Grimm and Brandert 2016). For

transformational leadership and others, strategic development and others which I think are
likely to help me during the latter part of my professional career. I would also like to mention
that before enrolling in this course I had rudimentary knowledge about these concepts and the
contents of the course helped me to gain knowledge about these concepts. These concepts
helped me during the making of the film in a significant manner.
The course work by providing me thorough information regarding these has not only
helped me to gain advantage over my peers but will also help me to tackle challenges that I
am likely to face in the professional world. For example, the knowledge regarding leadership
that the course provided will help me to lead my team mates in a better manner (Raes et al.
2015). In addition to this, the knowledge that I acquired regarding team building will also
help me to become a better team mate and help me to contribute in a positive towards the
team (Bush, LePine and Newton 2018).
My initial reaction when the professor gave us this assignment was one of disbelief
and at the same time I felt that this is an opportunity for me to display my creative and
innovative skills. There were numerous occasions when I felt that the task was too taxing for
me. During the course of the creation of this movie I was required to work closely with
various individuals like the director of the movie which I had decided to make and others.
This was really a great learning experience for me and I was able to develop my learning
abilities and also my cognition in a significant manner during the course of the creation of
example, the use of these concepts during the film making task helped me in a significant
manner.
