REFLECTION THAT PLANS A PATH TO A CAREER 2
It is important to recognize that kinesiology is a field that focusses on providing
students with education opportunities through dissemination of knowledge on physical
education, public health, curriculum design and other related majors to prepare graduates to be
competitive in transformation of the nations and the world (Lippert & Minor, 2017).
Among the strategies that can help students become professional in this area are: one,
I believe that it will require participation of an individual in coursework by ensuring that they
attend all designated credit hours of the core electives and, also take the courses that are specific
to the study concentration hours (Walsh, Veri & Willard, 2015). I also believe that students
should have the foundational content knowledge which is a prerequisite to passing various
nationally recognized instructors on group exercise, personal trainer and conditioning certificate
exams. There will be a need to meet the requirement in areas like physical therapy, exercise
science, sports medicine and occupation therapy.
One of my personal thoughts and goals that in my perception are essential to achieve
while still in college is to ensure that am familiar with practical that are in relation with my field
(kinesiology) so that I will not have problem executing what I have been learning in class in the
market place. Also, I will ensure that I invest more in my studies by spending extra time doing
personal studies that are far different from what the lectures could give; this will simply help in
developing a broader knowledge of the field. Most importantly I believe that it should always be
an aim for a student to start preparing early enough for specific area that is of interest to them.
For example, if the area of interest is physical therapy, then I will have a responsibility to choose
early enough and concentrate to the field since it is my area of interest. The other reason why it
will be necessary for one to choose the area of interest is because when you choose an area of

interest you develop a more burning passion for the area compared to when it is not an area of
interest.
