INTRODUCTION
Leadership is being regarded as the practice of leading and directing the people towards
the specific type of goal and objectives (Roussel, 2011). Here, in the given report I will show my
reflection upon the concept such as leadership which has changed significantly after reading
Jackson and Perry text book. In addition to this, in the given report I will also quote number of
examples which are related to my life experience.
MAIN BODY
How my understanding of leadership has changed over the course of module
My understanding with respect to the concept such as leadership have changed totally
after reviewing the above mentioned book. Earlier, I used to believe that the main role of any
leader is to make the things work from the other.
In this context, I also believe that in any organization, main role of leader is to give
guidance to their follower and direct them towards the correct path which is of tactical goal and
objective of enterprise. But, after reading the given module I have explored a completely
different characteristic of leader which is of parenting.
I have never realized that a leader can also be recognized as a leader. In this context, it
has been examined that the main role of parent is not only related with guiding its children
towards the right direction, but they also play the role of motivator as well as developer. Here, I
have learned the given thing in the respective module only (Gray, Field and Brown, 2010).
Herein, I have analysed that in the firm a leader also play the role of parents for its
followers. In this context, it gives them direction and make efforts for their overall development
so that they can be able to perform their assigned task with utmost efficiency. Furthermore, I
have also examined that the leader makes efforts in terms of motivating its follower in the
situation when they done something wrong. Furthermore, I have also gained the knowledge
about different other characteristic of leader too which are as captaincy, schooling and drama etc.
Thus, the given module has played very effective role in terms of changing my perspective about
the leader.

How the given module assist in my further MBA studies
The things which I have learned in the given module will help in my MBA programs too.
Herein, it is examined that after doing MBA course there are some general characteristics
identified which is being expected by each recruiter from the MBA students. It consists of good
communication skill, decision making and leadership skill. Thus, with the help of given module I
can explore some different ways of performing the leadership activities. In addition to this, in
MBA programs a student will have to enrol themselves in the number of activities such as role
play and presentation competition etc. Thus, by learning different leadership traits through given
module I can improve my knowledge and understanding regarding the given concept in an
effective way (Duff, 2013). Thus, it is through this way only I can give my effective assistance to
the MBA program.
Personal example of how I enact leadership and influence of the same on follower
I have personal experience wherein I have explored my leadership capability. Recently,
my college had organized the presentation competition wherein I had become the member of
organizing community as a leader. We had the team of around 5 people who were allotted with
all type of managing work related with presentation. Due to some mismanagement, there was a
conflict had occurred between two of the member of my team. Then, in the given situation I had
directed my effective efforts. Herein, I had tried my best for the purpose to settle the issue which
had happened between them (Ather, Khan and Hoque, 2011). In addition to this, I had again
redefined our work and thus had made measures in terms of segregating the roles and
responsibilities each individual. These all things had been effectively followed by my leader.
Thus, in the given situation I were enacted as a democratic leader.
My leadership as an agent of change
Around two to three months ago, my tutor had decided to brought changes in the manner
of teaching to the students. In this context, he had passed the instruction that from now onwards
each students will have to prepare weekly presentation upon the lessons which are taught to them
(Duff, 2013). The given instruction was resisted by many students. Thus, in this situation I had
played very effective role. Herein, I had given them explanation about the benefit of respective
activity. Hence, had brought change.
