Reflection on Nursing Practice and Community Health

Reflection on this week’s learning
note
 Learnt that discipline and respect is key in whatever one does.
 The student’s bad behavior and attitude was uncalled for and
needed disciplinary action indiscipline issues should be corrected
since they affect the future professionalism of an individual and
affect relationships with students and educators.

Reflection on my clinical practice
 It is imperative to note that my practicum nursing practice is
crucial as it is based on frontline procedures that confront the
community and environmental health hazards.
 It is significant in practising professional nursing for the
improvement of a health care settings (Bastable,2017).
 This is because it defines exploratory processes on medical
interventions and acute care strategies.
 It also provides me with medical knowledge and skills that
explores the impacts of risks on the health of patients and
communities hence proposing vital strategies for solving medical
care problems.

Thoughts and feelings about
community
 The community at large is an essential domain in the existence of
humankind.
 I am passionate about serving the community as a whole through
providing the acquired nursing skills for the betterment of the
health of patients (chism 2017).

How were they different?
 Previously, I felt that a nurse must ensure that the community
acquires the health care.
 However, these feelings and thoughts have changed over time.
 I agree that it is the duty of every individual in the community
setting to improve the overall health (Mackey,
Bassendowski,2017).
 All the individuals should be willing to support the nursing
practices and have skills which will be used to support
healthcare.

Consequences for nursing
practice
 My nursing practice is expected to change over time since the
medical filed is a dynamic platform.
 I am open to acquiring new skills and flexible in learning new
techniques for health care.

 Also, I will gain more knowledge and experience in the field due
to interaction with patients and challenges daily.
 Therefore, these will affect my nursing practice (Zaccagnini &
Pechacek,2019).

What am going to do differently?
 I will be able to interact with patients daily and be able to
conduct home follow-ups, especially for patients who are older
and those who are from acute care units.
 In order to be a clinically competent nurse will ensure there are
collaborative working relationships with my colleagues so that we
can together improve the patient's experiences and also the
quality of nursing care (Masters 2018).

What am going to do differently?
 I will also be able to conduct research and carry out proposals
that involve control over nursing practice and transparency goals
for external accountability.
 I will have to gain autonomy over my nursing practice to offer
care which is mainly based on the patient's personal needs and
preferences.

How I will apply my nursing
practice
 I will apply my skills and experience to community health through
possessing strong clinical and critical thinking abilities that will
hence problem solving and decision making.
 I will also adapt my nursing acre capabilities to the needs and
preferences of a diverse group of individuals who are the
community patients.

 For instance, I will apply my skills in administering well-baby
assessments procedures and vaccination interventions' will also
create a platform for conducting educational programs to train
people on the best health practice in the community (Moran,
Burson,& Conrad, 2016).
 This will enhance the stoppage of chronic diseases and
management of infection illness and other health conditions. I will
also advocate for improved access to health services to reform
the existing imbalance in health care.
 I will thus utilize my working experience well and ensure that I
make a difference in the lives of people, especially the
disadvantaged in these communities.
