1REFLECTION ON PSYCHOLOGY CLASSES
In a nutshell it can be said that the psychology classes have had a profound effect on me
and have enabled me to view things a different light, with a broader perspective which I would
never have devoted before towards viewing life. The perfect appropriation of my reflective
account about the psychology classes would be that it had caused profound changes in my life
whose benefits I have experienced in both my professional and my personal life in equal
proportions. In this particular essay, the discussion shall be focusing upon the provision of a
reflective account of the psychology class that I had attended.
The changes it has brought about in the way I think about myself, changes in my
relationships, in my value perceptions, in the goals of my life shall be touched upon in the essay.
Also whether I am happy with the changes, the areas of growth, whether there have been any
physical changes and the hardships that I have undergone in the counselling psychology class
shall be provided.
The greatest benefit of the psychology counselling classes have been that I could express
and could reconcile myself to certain things about my life which I had ignored previously. I
realized that those moments which I had ignored were very much central to my well being and
also to some extent to the deterioration of the state of my being. I had gained the insight that I
ought to avoid them and inculcate only the positive aspects of my past and uphold them in the
future for my benefit and for my emotional and physical well being.
During the psychology counselling classes I realized that the expectation of always being
on the right track is illogical not because it is so in itself, rather it is because we let ourselves be
obsessed by the idea of being what the others are expecting of us to be and do always. Though I
was never into acting the way the people expect of me, but the psychology counselling classes

had taught me to reflect upon the reason as to why would I act in a particular way instead of just
acting arbitrarily and the regretting upon my behaviour later. Acting with contemplation is
extremely important as it gives a sense of purpose to the act and not meaningless acting.
Sometimes it might so happen that embarking upon an action which demands the following of
the conscience could lead to disastrous conditions, hence the actions must be taken by means of
greater contemplation.
Having learnt about the fact that actions must be taken on the basis of contemplation and
that being guided by others expectations can lead to disappointment has been an evolutionary
moment in my life, by the counselling and the role play sessions. The counselling sessions and
the role play had made me aware of my strengths which I ought to cultivate and gain benefit for
myself in the long run in my life. It seemed like that I had regained consciousness about my
strengths and felt invigorated at the reconciliation with my own capabilities which I had almost
forgotten. The advice and the session had worked wonders for me in term of helping me with the
inspiration of growing my strengths even more and more importantly control my emotions in a
proper ways so that I become more emotionally intelligent.
By means of rediscovering about my strength I can right now say that I am very much
aware of the areas that I am supposed to work upon and develop myself. One of the key areas in
which I had learnt how to develop is that of growing out of the habit of being protected and
guarded, being fearful of changes and social interactions. I have learnt that I must in order to be
able to reach at a level of personal evolution must develop good communication skills and give
up on the fear psychosis which was causing a sense of low self esteem in me. I was made aware
of the fact that I was endowed with strength and all that I needed was to channelize it in a proper
was and thereby derive the maximum amount of benefit out of it.

3REFLECTION ON PSYCHOLOGY CLASSES
At the end I shall say that the psychology counsellling session and the role plays had had
profound and positive life changing effect on me which had been quite open and non
judgemental. Owing to that I have realized that I could do quite a lot with the capacities endowed
to me by the universe.
