1CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Description of the situation:
The situation that has triggered the reflection is the issue of female oppression in the
workplace as well as in the homes. The incident that happened in the past was the sexual
harassment that occurred inside the workplace. I was harassed by the senior executive of the
organization. He made certain vulgar comments on my dressing sense and he even touched
my back and my body. The situation got worse when I complained about it to the
management and they took no action against it. Rather they stopped my promotion and I was
harassed by the organization.
Critical explanation or analysis:
The incident started after three to four months of my joining. Initially I thought it is
light-hearted joke and this is the reason I did not react. Gradually it was going to a vulgar
level and this is the reason I felt that I should report this to the directors. This situation got
adverse. The directors assured that they would help me. They called the senior executive for
his justification. The executive completely denied. However he was given a warning and
asked not to repeat the same. The senior executive had a good record of performance inside
the organization. This is the reason they did not take any strict action against them. They
rather tried to suppress me by not giving me promotion. The sexual harassment led to
oppression. I have observed that this was the situation that was prevalent in many
organizations as well as in the homes. In the society female oppression is the common factor.
The incidents of female oppression is evident in many households. The complaints of female
oppression is evident in many households. This is a common issue that has taken place in the
society.
The event occurred because the issue was not considered to be important and it was
taken for granted. Nobody paid attention to the issue and this is the reason it remained

unaddressed. The culprit of the incident remained unbothered and therefore he got the
courage to commit the crime. The women are considered to be weak, therefore they were
oppressed. The males always get more advantage than the females in the society and hence it
is harmful or the society.
In case of the professional practice, sexual harassment and the oppression of the
female employees inside the organization are a harmful practice that can be considered to be
a serious issue. It pollutes the working environment where the female employees feel
insecure to work. There are many females who face this issue in their domestic as well as in
the professional field.
Reflection:
I raised my voice against the oppression and the harassment I faced. I thought this was
the best way to contribute to the society. As discussed above this is a social issue that is
observed at homes as well as in the professional field. By raising my voice against the issue I
showed my capacity of contributing to the society and resolve the social issues.
I showed the courage to report the situation and not tolerate the incident. When I got
no permanent solution of the situation I should have lodged a complaint against the executive
manager to the cops. I should have taken a major step rather than just reporting it to the
directors. The legal complaint would be a major step that would be considered to be an
effective one. I left the case there itself. I rather took the decision to face the situation in a
bold manner. It could have been better if I would have instantly made a legal complaint.
The obstacle in this case could be the lack of support from the society. The females
usually does not receive any support from the males in the society. The exact situation
happened with me when this issue was considered by the directors. It has even been observed

that in many instances the cops does not support the female victims. The victims have to go
with another round of harassment there. This is the biggest pitfall that is observed there.
In the future the new knowledge that can be used in order to address the social issue
in the future professional practice is by reporting the situation to the crime branch by sending
an online mail. This type of issues should be addressed to a larger amount of people. In order
to do trainings should be organized for the employees on ethics and corporate governance.
The new idea would have a positive impact on the professional field as it would help
in making the working environment better. This would solve the problem of many female
employees as a proper ethics will be maintained inside the organization.
In order to take a different action I should arrange for camps and training on the
actions that should be taken against the oppression of women and on maintaining a proper
ethics inside the organization.
It is possible if the initiative is sincere. The initiative that can be taken has to be
genuine.
From the past incident I have learned not to bear the wrong things and to protest
against it. Submitting oneself to the wrong doing will act as an enhancement of the activity of
the criminals. It would be helpful in the future.
