Introduction
Social workers have the responsibility of reflecting upon the practise of analysing and
applying professional judgement and discernment. There is need to identify, evaluate and
integrate various sources of evidence and knowledge (Alston and Bowles, 2019). There is need
of evaluation and impacting upon benefits that is given to service users. There is supervision and
other individuals who are supporting and reflecting the work. There is requirement of sustaining
practise and wellbeing. This report is a reflection of care worker who is taking care of Morris.
Reflection
I had to convince Mr Morris and his wife Jenny to to take the care support. When I went
to their house, I introduced myself as the social services person, Alicia. They told me that they
did not received any kind of letter before regrading this type of service. Jenny offered me a cup
of tea but I refused as I was not in my mind. I just want to have a good time with Morris and
Jenny. I wanted to have information about their needs and problems while managing their daily
life activities. They told me that they do not want to have any kind of care facility as they can
manage the household activities by their own. I explained them that they can have support once a
week from Age Concern. They can provide support by arranging meals on the wheels. I
suggested them to take this service as they do not have to pay money for this food. I waved both
of them after this conversation and went out of their house. It was a good experience and I
managed to complete my job role perfectly. It is my duty to follow all guidelines and rules
effectively for managing my work. There is need to develop skills for serving people. As a carer,
it is important for me to manage the providing of effective care to people (De Montigny, 2018). I
went to Mr. and Mrs. Riley residence and talked to them about the purpose of my visit. I
explained them why there is need for them to have extra support and care at home. They both
denied as they think that they do not need to have extra care or support or a care worker
(Featherstone and Gupta, 2020). I told Mr. and Mrs. Riley that food will be delivered to them
daily. In this way, there will be no need of cooking food and cleaning. There is need to have
proper way of providing care to people as it is necessity of a care worker. I explained them that
they are senior citizens and they are entitled for taking support and care according to the
government (Greer, 2016). As the part of UK citizenship, there are guidelines and plans which
suggest that old people must be give assistance after a certain age which is 60 years. There are
several acts which are made by government for helping old people. This assures efficient living

of old people in the country (Jarldorn, 2018). As the care worker, it is responsibility that
promoting of strengths, rights and wellbeing of people is important for communities and
families. There is need to establish and maintain confidence and trust of people. As the care
worker, it is my duty to be accountable for quality of practising that is required for effective
working (Laing and Maylea, 2018). I have concluded that it is my responsibility to take care of
all factors which will help in developing and creating a positive environment for the old people
to manage their life. There is need to maintain professional development and personal
information for providing effective care. There is need to act safely and develop new ways for
professional integrity. The concept of reflective practise is to manage the working ability of
social work and managing all theoretical concepts. As the care worker, it is my duty to manage
the proper and effective care for all individuals. There is need to manage and develop proper use
of resources in order to have proper services (McCurdy, Sreekumar and Mendes, 2020). I
interviewed Mr. and Mrs. Riley and I analysed that there is need for them to have care workers.
This will help in solving their problem of living alone and making own food. The care worker
facility will help them to manage the functioning properly and attaining their lifestyle goals. It is
concluded that there is requirement to manage the work and complete the daily routine schedule
effectively. Moreover, it is seen that as a care worker, I will be able to focus more upon the
responsibilities and roles of taking care of individuals. There is need for me to focus upon the
working abilities and skills. This is necessary for me to manage the role of care worker as it
helps me to manage the providing of care to all patients.
Being honest is very important in my profession. I will be able to manage the working of the care
worker duty in proper manner.
Having people around you at old-age is one of the biggest happiness that is with them. This
provide a good feeling to them. It is important for all elder people to have proper assistance and
live a good life. This is concluded that adult people who do not have families must be given
proper assistance (Pugh, 2016). There is need of having people who actually care for the good
things to happen for adult people. Elder people in home can be provided effective care by
making them feel comfortable. This is done by managing the attainment of good life for adults.
Elder people do not care about the staff they are getting care from. They just need that the person
who is helping them is full of enthusiasm and manage to take care all the responsibilities of adult
people. Mr. and Mrs. Riley were living alone and there is need for providing them good care and

service. This can be done by facilitating and developing new ways to develop and provide food,
lifestyle, and other facilities. As a care worker, I am also focusing upon managing time of elder
people (Vickers, 2016). This is ensured that I am doing my best for providing support to Mr and
Mrs Riley. There is need to provide effective care and service to elder people so that they can
live a good life.
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it is summarised that there is need to have proper care
facilities provided to al elder people within UK. There is government regulation which suggests
that care workers must be present for every elder person of UK. This demonstrates that all elder
people are properly provided care and affection. They need to be provided care and food. Oldage
is the stage of life where people need someone to talk too.
