1CHRONIC CARE ACROSS THE LIFESPAN
It is determined by researchers likeGhaferi&Dimick(2016) that intensive group activities are
important for professional as well as personal development of the student. Alone, they are unable to take
challenging tasks, however in a team they are able to perform such task as the pressure is divided among
the entire team. While providing care and managing nursing needs of a patient suffering from (add the
objective of your group assignment), I was assigned with a group task in which (add the number of your
team mebers)of my classmates accompanied me. As usual, primarily we were involved in conflicts related
to task allotment and sectioning. However, we later decided to use our personal strengths in each section
and divided the task as per our abilities. There was other issued as well such as timing, collaboration, and
availability of each member to successfully conduct the assignment, but we managed to converse directly
in the campus, or through messages on student portal. Hence, the task achievement plan was simple and
we only focused on group discussion, exchange of information and utilizing each other’s strength for
successful completion of the task (Brunetto et al., 2013). Further, there was things that did not worked in
our team collaboration such as division of the section, management and understanding task requirements
for which we took help from our tutor, hence, determining accuracy of the assignment.
While working in this team project, I became aware of one truth that feeling is different for
professional and personal life. For example, we are allowed to raise voice, argue or burst in tears, if
something does not occur as per our preference in our personal life. However, in professional life we have
to compromise our personal preferences and think about the greater good, therefore sacrifice becomes
important aspect of it. I felt the same way while we were indulged in conflict for task achievement, as I
decided to choose a part that I was not confident about. However, as the assignment reaches its finishing
point I felt that this collaborative assignment was helpful for me to learn and adjust with the situation . This is
because, I was working with several other personalities in the team having different behavioral and
understanding skills, and I was still able to deliver my points in such argumentative situation.
As I mentioned in the previous section, all those three members were having different attitude,
beliefs and values related to the task that collaborated in this assignment. These differences helps to create
a dynamic team having four different strengths and weaknesses. I was able to bring calmness, thinking
ability and courage to the team. I contributed by creating a communication link between these different
personalities, hence brought up stability and communication ease to the team. Hence, I feel that from my
perspective, team spirit and bonding can be attributed from our team collaboration. The dynamic nature of
the team will further help me to deal with similar situation in future.

Shemoff et al., (2014) conducted a research to understand the importance of team work in
developing students analytical and personality related skills and it was observed through the research that
team work is an important skill that each student learn while working in a team, and it further help to
develop their personality traits. It helps them to deal with several situations and people, that increases their
patience level, ability of argument and mental stability in conflict related situation. Another researcher group
determine that through such group activities, students are able to manage their time, and plan their task
according to their daily activities. Further, they learn to take accountability of any work and develop
communication skills. These are the attributes that team work helps to grow within them.Carrell,
Sacerdote& West (2013) also determined that working in a teamhelps to develop thinking ability as their
thinking is shaped by the different perspective of other team members. Smith &Cardaciotto(2012) further
added that while dealing with conflicts and arguments, students develop ability to work in an adverse
condition so that they can secure their position in the team facing crisis. Further, the positive experience
that the student achieve while working in the teamhelps to develop their personality, mental strength and
improves the rate of retention of students within institutes. Further, while going through group discussions
and task division, student develops overall knowledge of any subject and takes responsibility to contribute
their 100% for the betterment of the entire group (Shemoff et al., 2014). Further, my connection with these
researches determine that my team work was composed and controlled as only once we broke into conflict.
Further, my team was united and was ready to deal with any adverse condition together.
From this team understanding, several things are there that I can take away after conclusion of the
assignment. The first thing will be diverse aspect of my personality, which will help me to overcome
different hurdles of my life. Further, the team spirit will help me to work in more dynamic and broader team
as I noticed that within a team, I was able to work beyond my own ability, think beyond my limit with
enhanced courage. Therefore, I understood the process to work within a team and if I had to work in a team
in future, I will observe each member and then work on making my own space within team. I will also try to
lead the team if opportunity was given to me. Further, my future strategy will be developing communication
skills so that while working in a broad team, I can develop relationship with each member so that we can
achieve ultimate success. Researcher O'learyet al., (2012) also determine that observing team is an
important aspect that helps to develop team bonding and collaboration as well as helps in normalizing
conflicts.
