INTRODUCTION
Reflection can be defined as the process by which an individual presents his/her own
experiences with others during the course of completing any work or project or about his/her life
events (Reflection, 2019). The experiences can be both positive or negative. In this assignment
also, the positive and negative experiences which I came across at the time of completing this
project will be presented on the topic Contemporary Issues related to Technological Innovation.
MAIN BODY
Reflection
The following is a reflective piece of my own experience which I came across during
course of completing this project on contemporary issues related to technological innovation.
Our teacher gave our complete class with different projects from each other and also provided us
with the deadline to submit the project. This event occurred during the class and as the project
was to be done by a single person only so I was required to complete the work of the whole
project. No one was involved in completing my work and the outcome of my hard work and
dedication to my work gave me the positive outcome and made by project successful.
At the time of leading the project, I came up with several feelings which were curiosity,
fear, enthusiastic. These feelings came into my mind because of various thoughts moving here
and there in my mind. I had not came across ever with this kind of project in my life so I was
curious to know what it is, how I have to do this and many more. I was also feeling feared as I
had not done anything like this before so I was thinking that what will happen if I will not be
capable of doing the provided task. I felt enthusiastic because this project will make me to come
across various types of new experiences which can be helpful and will help me in my future.
During the project, I was feeling very nervous and anxious because I was facing many problems
at the time of completing the project. I was given with a very vast topic which was covering
many aspects and I was unable to make choice of the most relevant data for completing my
project. In addition to this, the theories were also complex as they consumed a lot of time to
understand because before writing and applying them it was important to understand them so that
I could be able to write something about those theories. As such the Porter's Five Forces Model
was typical (Majid, 2016). It was so because I was unable to identify the power of the forces
whether they are low, medium or high. This theory consumed most of time of the project

(Jørgensen, 2016). In addition to this, the ways which were used to improve the ways of working
of companies in Hospitality Industry were also not easy to find out and apply. But after making
the completion of this project I was feeling were happy. However, it took a lot to suffer but at
last the outcome of the efforts were positive (Wijaya, Watson and Bruce, 2017). Along with this,
the project was also completed within time. Despite me, it is not easy to judge the feelings of
others but if I try to do so than among all the students in the class only 60% were seen as happy,
rest all cannot be judged as their feelings differed from time to time. At some instance they were
happy and at the other they were not happy (Xiong and et. al., 2016). So I also not focused much
on them.
During the whole course of work the best part was of the Porter's Generic Model which I
had used in the project to find out the best way by which an organisation can achieve competitive
advantage over its rival firms. I already knew about this model as I had done it earlier so it was
not difficult for me to do and this has proved to be the best part in the project in which I did not
faced any difficulty and did not find any need to ask from others. The following activity has
passed good because of my already acquired knowledge regarding this topic which helped me a
lot in completing this project. The worst experience during the course of this project was about
the tow models which I had applied in this project which are Porter's Five Forces Model and the
ways used by IT in making improvement in the services of companies working in Hospitality
Industry. The reason behind this was because of lack of knowledge regarding these two topics. I
had never came across about these topics and the most time consuming part was making
connection of these points with the company. The link can only be made with the help of some
original source of data which was scarce to find. It also consumed a lot of time. In overcoming
these negative experiences the help from friends and family were taken. The provided me with
the information about these two topics so that the project's successful completion can be made. In
future, if I will be ever provided with these kind of projects, I will make sure to complete them
within time so that future deviations in the work can be avoided. In these kind of situations, I will
take help from my superiors, teachers and family so that I will be able to complete my given
work in time. Also there are some skills needed to develop in me to complete the future activities
efficiently and effectively such as time management skills and communication skills. These
skills are very much important in an individual to have (Yu and et. al., 2016).

CONCLUSION
From the above assignment it has been concluded that having sufficient skills are
important for every individual in order to make sure the completion of assignment successful.
Time Management Skills and Communication skills are important as these skills helps an
individual in timely completing the projects or works provided. In addition to this, with proper
communication skills, an individual can put his/her questions easily in front of other and can also
get suitable answers. It also helps in making the other to understand the same what the one wants
to convey to the other.
