REFLECTIVE ACCOUNT
From the group presentation about the new product of Nivea cream, my different skills
developed. First of all, gathering statistics about Nivea gave me an opportunity to work with
other teammates which increased my communication skills. Each member of the team was good
at different aspect. So I got to learn about various other skills from them. Researching about
Nivea increased my knowledge about the company that how it successfully delivers quality
products to the customers because of the natural ingredients used by it. While working within a
team, I identified leadership skill that how one should lead a team to achieve an objective.
Whenever a team is assigned with a particular activity, all the team members are required to
effectively contribute for task competition. While making presentation, my team mates were very
collaborative and because of effective collaboration the task was successfully achieved..
Finding facts about Nivea was typical since original information was to be used. So this
activity allowed me to enhance my researching ability. This ability would prove to be quite
beneficial for me in my future projects. The more research I do my knowledge will be enhanced
which will help me in building my career. There were some difficulties as well. When analysis
was carried out on Nivea cream, with respect to the target group, no one was able to decide that
which category should be preferred. Various sorts of arguments were made on selecting the
target group that should be focussed. I finally gave suggestion that middle class women have to
do lots of activities to manage their family because of which they do not get time to think abut
their skin. So targeting them would be beneficial for the product as well as company. This
suggestion given by me impressed others. Finally, all the members were satisfied with it. This act
entailed motivation in me which further helped me in making presentation.
Assessment of the market mix for Nivea cream proved to be challenging. Each member
had different view points. Getting to the final conclusion was not an easy task. In order to solve
this, voting was conducted based on selection of each parameter. Finally, the choice to which
majority agreed were selected. This act gave the idea that how to make effective decision in case
of any dispute. This research also helped me in enhancing my professionalism. Interacting with
others enhanced my interpersonal skills as well. I got to know about various principles of
marketing and how to apply them in accordance with a specific company. The way other
members used to explain their view points helped me in increasing my learning skills as well.
