INTRODUCTION
It is important for every individual to do self assessment in order to find the strengths and
weakness of an individual. It is important for the overall development and growth of the
individual so that the individual can work on their weaknesses and make sure that the convert
those weaknesses into strengths (Ali, A., 2020.). In the given report Gibb’s Reflective Cycle is
being analysed in order to make sure that their is a complete self assessment of an individual.
MAIN BODY
Gibb’s Reflective Cycle: the reflective cycle model was first published in the year 1988 by an
American psychologist and sociologist Graham Gibbs in his book ‘learning by doing’. this cycle
provides a systematic approach to the people and encourage them to think about certain
experiences that they have had in certain situations, activities or events (Dang, R., 2018.). This
approach helps the people and make them aware of their actions and will help them in adjusting
in the situation with slightly changes in their behaviour.
This is basically the Gibb’s Reflective Cycle Model.

Description:
The university that I attended helped me a lot in developing core skills that has helped me in my
professional life as well as my personal life. The skills that I have obtained from my education
and my experiences are given below. From these skills some of them are such that I still need to
work on them as I am not fully confident in them.
Strengths
Communication skills: These are the skill that are essential for any work that I do. It is
important to have efficient and effective communication skills so that I can convince others and e
able to clearly describe what I actually wants to say (Derrenbacker, C., 2018.). This skill is one
of my strengths.
Team work and networking: I am very good in communication so it is really easy for me to
built networking and I can easily get involved in groups as well. I have an extrovert personality
which has helped me a lot in getting along with others.
Problem solving: This is one of my best skill as I am very good in problem solving situation. I
can handle every situation with efficiency and effectiveness and I will not let it affect my
productivity and performance as well.
Weaknesses
Research skills: These are the skills that has helped me in doing proper research and finding the
correct solution from the research in my professional life as well as in my educational field
(Harwood, C. and Koyama, D., 2021.). I still have to work on thee skills as I am not being able
to find an effective end result after doing the research.
Use of ICT’s: It is a system that help students in using innovative educational resources. It is
proven fact that this system helps classroom and education system in motivating students and
establish a better relationship between students and technology. Since I am not that good with
technology it is still my weakness.
Time and self management: I am not very good in time management as I work when feel and
not according to the time table that I have set for myself. I lack this skill and will continue to
work towards improving this skill.
Feeling :
My profession life has been very good as my colleagues and my supervisors are very happy with
my performance during my workings in my office (Himangshu-Pennybacker, S. and Fuller, D.P.,

2018.). My professional life has helped me a lot in gaining some of the experiences that were
new for me and helped me in developing my skills. Feelings are the emotions that I have
experience throughout any situation or event.
When some appreciate the hard work I felt really good but when I failed in doing any specific
task I felt really bad.
When I contributed some effective ideas in my team them my team members and my supervisors
were really happy with my performance but when I couldn't able to complete my research during
the time period they felt disappointed.
Evaluation:
In my self assessment activities I have observed some of my good aspects and my aspects that
requires some improvement. Some of the aspects or experiences that have helped me in my
professional and educational life are given below:
Communication skills: During my working my communication skills have helped me a lot as I
was able to put my point of view in front of other clearly and this skill was appreciated a lot of
time by my superiors as well (McFlynn, P., 2018.).
Team management and networking skills: I always make sure that wherever I go I make new
connections with people and learn something new from their experiences as well. My networking
skill have helped me a lot in learning and also helped me in performing good in my tasks.
Technological skills: My technological skills were not really good and I have to face problems as
every thing is digital nowadays. I have continuously tried to find solution or improvement
techniques of my this weakness and I will continue to work on these skills.
Time and self management: This skill is essential wen I have to complete my tasks within
specific time limit but as I am not very good with time management skills I have to suffer from
some problems that limit my abilities (Patton, N. and Kinsella, E.A., 2018.).
Analysis:
According to the above mentioned skills I have to do improvements in some of the areas so that
it can help me in m future growth perspectives. I will definitely work on my technological skills
as I have faced many problems in context to digital functions. I was no being able to work
efficiently and effectively whenever I have to work on certain systems. It has also affected my
productivity and performance as well. My time and self management skill also contributed in my
poor performance as I will not be able to complete my tasks on time. I will definitely improve

my these weaknesses in order to avoid any problem in future (Rucinski, D.A., 2020.). My skills
that have helped me a lot in my profession journey are communication skills, team management
and networking skills and problem solving skills. All these skills are related to my self
confidence and I will make sure that increase my self confidence and also make sure that I polish
these skills with time and experiences.
Conclusion:
By looking back at my experience I have get some of the best experiences of my life during this
period. I will make sure that I can improve my self and my weaknesses that I have come to know
through self assessment (Sarraf-Yazdi, S., 2021.). The positive aspects of this assessment is that
it helped me in finding my actual abilities which I have to use while working and has also helped
me in finding my weaknesses that I have to improve in order to make sure that when the situation
arises again I can deal with it effectively and efficiently.
Action plan:
I will work on my research skill by solving case studies and by learning from the program that
provide information about how to do effective research and find solutions. I will also work hard
on my time management skills so that I can manage my time effectively and can complete my
tasks within time. My time management will start with my small tasks that I can set time for. I
will make sure that I set time for my each and every task and try to complete my tasks within
time so that I can able to provide correct amount of time to respective activities. The third skill
that I have to improve is my technological skills (Watts, M., 2021.). As I was not able to
effectively use the ICT program I make sure that I learn the operations and workings of that
system so that I can manage that system. The system helped in increasing motivation in the
students and the employees which is very beneficial for myself and that system also helps I
learning new and innovative educational and learning methods that can help me in attaining more
skills and improve my skill set. I will make sure that I work hard in order to improve my
weaknesses and convert them into my skills so that I can perform my tasks with optimum
efficiency and productivity.

CONCLUSION
From the above given reflection it is concluded that self assessment is necessary for an
individual in order to make sure that they can observe themselves and find their strengths and
weaknesses. The above given reflection has also helped in gaining experiences from the different
situations and will allow solutions to the problem in case they arise again in the future. This
reflective cycle has helped in converting situation and experience in to words for better analysis.
