Reflective writing
Dear self,
During the journey of my life I have learnt various lessons along with developing my
skills and capabilities which have helped me in dealing with different situations and problems in
life so that I was able to successfully achieve my personal and professional goals. While studying
at the university my teachers and my self motivation have been most influential in helping me
through the learning and development process. The teachers at university helped me in paying
attention in the class so that I could understand the lectures that helped me in scoring well. Also
my self motivation helped me in following a proper schedule regularly and managing time
effectively so that I was able to achieve my goals on time. Also my habit of continuous revision
and critical evaluation of situations helped me in my continuous personal and professional
developed which helped me in reaching to my goal and so I am working at my desired job
position in desired organisation. The major milestones that helped me in reaching to my ultimate
goal during the journey were completing my graduation within 3 years with highest scores in
class, completing my technical and computer proficiency courses within 2 years, acquiring my
desired job role in desired organisation within 1 month of completing my studies. These
milestones helped me in completing my journey in an effective manner by achieving the small
goals timely which also motivated me so that I continuously utilised my efforts in reaching to my
ultimate goals. During my journey I had to make various decisions which affected the direction
of my journey like choosing my major subject, choosing the college where I wanted to pursue
my studies, selecting my desired job role, selecting my friend circle etc. All these decisions
helped in my continuous development and also gave me an opportunity to evolve through my
development process. The decisions made by me mostly contributed towards my growth and
development and helped me during my journey as I have critical analysis skills which helped me
in evaluating a situation both positively and negatively so that I can make effective decisions.
The choices made by me were right and helped me in my development and also helped me in
building my career so that I have become competitive and employable in market. However,
sometimes I think that I could have chosen a different stream of subject like medicines or health
related which could have helped me in using my skills and talents in a better manner. This could
have also helped me in helping the people who are suffering from various diseases so that my
contribution towards development of society could have also increased. I would have also used

my empathetic skills in an efficient manner by treating people and giving them effective care so
that they could recover fast. This could have also helped me in completing my graduation from a
different university and changed my career line so that I could have opened my own hospital and
have become an entrepreneur. This could have helped me in exploring more areas of my
capabilities so that I could have become better in my future.
