INTRODUCTION
Reflective practice is a very important aspect that should be considered in the workplace so
that managers and the leaders of the organisation can become able to increase productivity at the
workplace. It is very important for the organisations through which they can assess their
performance in the marketplace (Duma and et.al., 2018). It also facilitates the managers of the
organisations to do continuous development at the workplace. In this report there will be the
discussion of the various models of reflections. Gibbs reflective cycle will be undertaken into the
account. It is one of the most effective reflective cycles that helps to analyse the skills that an
individuals developed while carrying out a specific project. It consists of various elements like
description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. On the other hand, the
Kolbs experiential learning cycle is also an effective model. It mainly includes components that
helps the individual to analyse their experience towards a specific situation. In order to carry out
this report Gibbs reflective cycle model will be undertaken into the account in order to better
understand the reflection. After that there will be the evaluation of the various components of it.
In this report, there will be the discussion on semester 1 and semester 2 by the implementation of
the Gibbs reflective cycle.
MAIN BODY
Semester 1
Gibbs Reflective cycle
This model was developed by Graham gibbs in the year 1988 in order to enhance the
structure of the learning from the past experiences. It is one of the most effective frameworks in
order to analyse the experience of an individual towards the specific situation. Implementation of
this model also helps individuals to evaluate the skills they have developed by carrying out some
specific Operations (Muscatello, 2022). This model consists of six stages that effectively help
individuals to examine their experiences. In relation to the semester 1 concept of the report can
be effectively understood by implementing this model. This model is described below in relation
to the semester 1:
Description: When I was in my school, I was given a group task with the members of
four people in the team. The task was about the Brexit that was implemented by the
country of the United Kingdom in order to leave the European union. In that task we have

to mention all the policies that were implemented in Brexit. It was one of the most
challenging tasks for me because before that I was never involved in the team task and it
was to be done in a very effective way. Our team was of total five members and
everybody distributed their specific task related to the Brexit topic and I was appointed as
a leader of the team. I was given the responsibility to carry out the operations and all the
tasks. In that task I effectively become able to know about the Brexit policy that creates
so many challenges for the country of the UK. It was the first time when I was appointed
as the leader and it came out with so much responsibility because I was under pressure
because it was my first time to lead the team towards the completion of the particular
task.
Feelings: Before the task I was feeling very nervous because for the first time I was
given the role of leader in which I have to carry out the group task. It was a very
challenging topic for me because I was not aware about the policy of the Brexit and our
team has to mention all the policy of this rule that was imposed by the country of the UK
(Dincer, Hacioglu and Yüksel, 2018). Each and every member of the team was feeling
very nervous before this semester and when we successfully carry out the group task in
relation to the Brexit policy, we all have developed effective team working skills which
helps us in a lot in our professional career. At first it was very challenging for us to carry
out such a challenging task but now I can feel that this particular task has developed
effective teamworking skills through which we can carry out the challenging task in an
effective manner.
Evaluation: Overall it was a very good experience for a team because we were at that
time able to manage group tasks. I can evaluate that each and every individual of the
team put so much potential in order to gather all the information about the Brexit that was
imposed in the UK and how much the organisations have to face was also mentioned in
that group task. Everything went well at that time because each and every person of the
team gives their full potential towards the achievement of the task.
Analysis: From that group task I can analysed that it has developed my leadership skills
because I was appointed as a leader in the group. I also become able to critically analyse
particular needs and through which I can motivate all the team members towards the
completion of the particular task (Pınarbaşı, 2018). I can also analysed that each member

of the team has developed effective teamworking skills through which they become able
to effectively communicate with each other. While carrying out the operation of the
project two people of the team fought with each other which creates challenges in order
to carry out the group task. As a leader I effectively manage this situation and provide an
effective solution for the conflict.
Conclusion: From this group task I have learnt leadership skills through which I become
able to carry out the specific task in an effective manner (Waters, 2019). This project was
about the Brexit policy and it was one of the most challenging tasks but everybody in the
team performed with full efficiency. It can be a more positive situation if conflict does
not arise. Conflicts delay the process of the project which was a negative point in the
group task. I could have implemented effective leadership skills through which I can
control the situation of the conflict.
Action plan: If I had to carry out this kind of project like Brexit, I will critically analyse
the concept and after that I will implement all the necessary information in the
assignment. I should also develop problem solving qualities through which I can solve
the problem of each and every individual in the team so that the situation of conflict
should not arise.
Semester 2
Gibbs Reflective Cycle
In order to carry out the reflection of semester 2, Gibbs reflective model will be undertaken
into the account (Mahmood, 2018). This semester is based on the operations and management
which helps the individual to develop effective skills through which they can become able to
perform better in the professional career. Gibbs reflective cycle model is described below in
relation to the semester 2:
Description: When I was in my school, we were given a project on the business
management in which we have to mention all the components of the business and
operations subject. This project happened in my school and our team was of ten people
who were involved in this project. I was appointed as the project leader who has to
manage all the work regarding the project. In this project a team has to effectively
implement all the principles of business management.

Feeling: At the initial stage of the project, I was feeling very nervous because for the
first-time I was carrying out the project in a team. I was appointed as a leader of the team
and I have given so much responsibilities in order to handle each and every individual
that was involved in order to implement all the principles of the business management
(Swaminathan and Deshpande, eds., 2021). It is one of the challenging subjects and we
have to carry out the report on operations and business management. Other team
members were also feeling nervous in the initial stages of the project but now me and
other team members can feel that we have developed effective communication and
coordination skills through which we can carry out the operation activities in a team.
Evaluation: I can evaluate from that project that it has developed so many skills in me
because I was given the responsibility of the leader at that time. I able to manage the team
in an effective manner through which the goal of the particular project can be achieved in
a given time. In between the project work me and my team members face difficulties in
collecting the data regards to the operation and business management which delays the
work of the project. I can ultimately evaluate that each and every person involved in the
project gives their so much potential so that the goal of the project can be achieved.
Analysis: I can analyse that project work is that one of the main problems that raised
while carrying out the work of the project is that me and my team members face
difficulty in order to gather all the information about the operations and business
management (Urbach and Röglinger, 2019). But in the end, I can also analyse that it
helps me and my team members in order to develop various kinds of skills. I have
developed effective leadership skills through which I become able to motivate the team
members in order to complete the given task. Everybody that was involved in this project
became able to effectively carry out the communication process.
Conclusion: From the given project of business management in my school I have learnt
how to manage teamwork in an effective manner through which goal of the project can
be achieved (Deshpande and Swaminathan, 2020). That project work can become more
positive and effective if we could become able to access the literature material in regards
to the business and operation subject. I should have to develop management skills so that
all the materials and the requirements can be full in regards to the specific project work.

Action plan: If I have to carry out the same project in the future, I will critically analyse
the needs of the requirement that should be implemented in the project. I will mainly
need the management and leadership skills through which I become able to motivate all
the individuals towards the goal of the project (De Boer and Andersen, eds., 2018).
Leadership skills will also help me to motivate each and every individual that is
associated with the project task.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been analysed that reflective practice is a very important aspect
which helps individuals to analyse their past experience. It facilitates the individual to look at the
skills they have developed by carrying out the specific task in the past. It also has them to adopt
effective skills through which they can perform better in their professional career. In the above
report Gibbs reflective cycle has been undertaken into the account. It can be analysed that it is
one of the most effective refractive cycles that has the organisation as well as individuals to
analyse their experience. Semester 1 and semester 2 both have been evaluated on the basis of this
model.
