A learning experience in academics can be a very good way to nurture a good
professional career. However, experience needs to be documented in a way that it supplies the
learning experience in a useful way. The learner has also had the chance of undergoing a
learning period. The learner had the chance to work on the importance of social media platforms
in the modern business. Social media has become an integral part of the contemporary business.
In the modern world, the owner and the management are able to interact with the common
people or the customers. It has helped to enhance the level of transparency between the customer
and the organization (Palacios-Marqués, Merigó and Soto-Acosta 2015). This main purpose of
this study is to write a reflective essay on the topics that I had covered on the use of different
types of social media platforms in the contemporary business.
A learning experience, in my opinion, can be defined as a record of materials that have
been gathered from the past studies that I had conducted or by observing the works of others.
Learning experience according to me can be helpful in a professional career, in particular, the
situations that are relevant to the learning experience I have. Such experiences are of high values
provided the study has been made by taking the help of genuine resources. Moreover, other
resources might misguide to a wrong way. Genuine resources will help to tackle some situations
that are realistic and are experienced in day-to-day business practice (Taylor 2017).
Nevertheless, learning experiences act like a base solidifier which prepares for a successful
professional career.
A learning experience that I had from my past studies will prove to be useful in my
professional career. The study has helped me to understand the involvement of social media in
the contemporary business. I am already aware of it and quite an active person in terms of social
media usage. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube have been the platforms

that I am using for a long time back. However, I am not aware of the professional way of using
the Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. The moment I get a chance to be on a professional career, I
will then learn the professional way of doing it. The knowledge that I have conceived from the
studies on the use of social media in professional business will help me to apply all those in my
professional career. Moreover, I can expect a less struggle in terms of integrating my works with
the social media platforms as I am already aware of such social sites (Barredaet al.2015).
My learning experience was a mix up of reading, writing, doing research works, listening
to the tutor’s lectures and observing the others doing the works on understanding the social sites.
All the works have helped me immensely with utmost knowledge. My personal work has
provided me some opportunity to research on the social sites. Moreover, I was able to know
about the different social sites in much detail (Parveen, Jaafar and Ainin 2015). I have also
observed other doing the research works. It has also helped me to understand how to research the
required content. My professor has given some important lectures. The lectures have helped me
to understand some interesting elements which I believe will help me in my professional career
ahead. I came to know that LinkedIn can be used for office purpose. The platform will help me
to connect with the people who are in the office network. I did also learn that Twitter can be used
for the official purpose also. This can be used for interacting with the customers which is a very
good way to establish a very transparent relationship with the customers.
The business research process that I had conducted during my study on the importance of
social sites in the contemporary business has helped me immensely in learning. The business
research was useful as it helped me to learn many a thing about the usage of social sites.
Additionally, such learning will help me in my professional career ahead. This is because I have
come to know a lot about the importance of social sites. In addition to the knowledge on the

social sites, I did also get to know the procedure which is used to conduct a research work on any
topic. I had the opportunity to do a research work on the chosen topic, which had included an
entire research element like the introduction chapter, the literature review section, the research
methodology section, the data analysis section and the conclusion part. The learning process that
had included both the secondary and the primary research work on the importance of social
media platforms in the contemporary business will be helpful in both the academic and the
professional career in future (Lecca et al. 2017).
The reason behind selecting the topic for the research was the broadness of knowledge
that the chosen topic contains. The topic has ample of knowledge on the social sites and its
contribution to the modern business (Lecca et al. 2017). I am still in my academics and will be
very soon in the professional career. My professional career will be very bright if I am able to
apply the learning elements. I have learned how to conduct the research work which will also me
help me in my professional work in times when I have the needs to find something. The learning
process has helped me to learn the process through which a topic can be researched using the
various secondary and the primary resources. This will help me in the life-long learning process
and will also help me in my professional career. The topic itself was very broad and I had needed
to know a little more about it to make my career better in the technology-oriented sector.
Nothing could be much better than this that I had the chance to conduct a research work on the
importance of social sites in the contemporary business.
The learning that I had from the research work is very valuable for my academics as well
as for the professional career ahead. I have planned to apply the elements that I have learned
from the research work in my professional career. I have learned that Twitter and LinkedIn can
also be used in a professional way. I have learned the usage of Twitter and LinkedIn. Moreover, I

will start practicing on creating a profile on the LinkedIn platform. This will help me to create
my own profile in a professional way. Additionally, I will also try to follow the twitter
conversations of some organization if it is possible. This will help me to become a good twitter
operator. Moreover, I will be able to use Twitter according to my company's needs. Apart from
learning the twitter and the LinkedIn, I have also learned how to conduct a research work on the
chosen topic. I will apply my research making capability at my workplace. This will help me to
resolve any issue if it is within my scope. I will apply the essence of social sites in promoting my
company if I am ever given a chance to do the same. I will also make a database of what I have
learned. The database will guide me in challenging circumstances.
