INTRODUCTION
Reflective journal is the analysis of own thoughts experiences which an individual has
learned from life, session, training, inductions etc. This report will evaluate person development
of distance learner after induction programme. There are different theories of models of writing
reflective which provide appropriate structure to individual learning. Therefore, to provide
structure to learning from distant learner the person will use Gibbs model which aims at
describing learning in 5 steps. In this the learner will focus on derive its PDP on three key
themes of induction which were academic writing, referencing and plagiarism. This will assist
the person in deriving lacking areas and improvement measures which are required to meet
personal development objectives.
MAIN BODY
Description
Learning experience of learner is focused with induction programme in which the
individual has learned about referencing academic writing and plagiarism (Youngs, Bieda and
Kim, 2017). The individuals have prepared personal development plan of three stages in which
learner coved personal swot, aim and objectives which will helped in individual in analysing
own strengths and weaknesses. In accordance, the person will derive learning experience of
induction programme for evaluating need of improvement in different areas.
Personal feeling
In my opinion personal development plan is the most effective way of analysing own
strengths, weakness and opportunities (D’Oca and Hong, 2015). In my opinion it is the best
strategy to analyse own learning from different areas. Moreover, after induction session I was not
aware about my strength and weakness for writing but with the session I learned that I am god
writer but I need to enhance my skills over providing clarity and evidence to content. Besides, I
have prepared my PDP plan which according to me helped me in learning about my core strength
and opportunities over the key theme of induction programmes.
Evaluation
In accordance to induction session, I evaluated that these sessions plays an important role
in lives of distant learner because it helps the individual in coordinating with all distant learners
which is the best way to derive competition and own strengths and weakness. Induction
programme are effective because it helps the person in integrating their learning and experience

which is the best strategy to evaluate improvement measures (Kutsyuruba and Treguna, 2017).
However, I feel personal development plan is the best way to analyse own development plan
considering strengths, weakness, opportunities. Furthermore, with the help of PDP plan I
evaluated that it is important for me to focus on formatting of references because it is the only
thing which will helps in providing clarity over by writing and evidence to writing. In induction
programme I learned about the different styles of referencing that is APA, Harvard, Chicago and
many more. From the session I evaluated that every style has different way of formatting and in
texting. Moreover, I learned that it is important for me to cite ever reference to provide evidence
to my academic writing (Bailey, 2017). Academic writing is the learning which derives the
importance of two other themes of session that is plagiarism and references. Plagiarism is termed
as coying of content from some available sources and referencing is providing evidence to
writing.
Apart from this, I identified that there is a huge difference in own learning and learning in
induction session because in distant education, the individual have very limited source of
learning and analysing competition of real world. Therefore, I feel from the session I learned that
I hold strong control over two components of academic writing which is structuring and clarity.
In contrast, I realized my writing is not effective if I copy even a single word because it is
considered as plagiarism and every writing is checked on the software calling turnitin (Cronan,
Mullins and Douglas, 2018). Thus, with this, I discovered that induction session and personal
development programs assist the learners in analysing various shortcomings which needs to be
improved. According to my learning I feel induction session is the foremost option for distant
learners it helps the person in practical learning with the help of trainers. Apparently, During the
session I identified plagiarism is prohibited to writing and copying content is punishable offense
for learners. With this I discovered my opportunity I am the person of values and beliefs my
learning and academic writing are based on my person learning through different sources. Hence,
I discovered that it is important for me to develop my kills over referencing because I was aware
about the formatting of Harward and APA references due to which I was unable to provide
clarity and evidence to may various academic writings (Bornmann and Mutz, 2015).
Conclusion
From evaluation, I can hereby conclude that induction session plays an important role in
helping individual in learning. Sessions are the only option for distant learner which can helps
