Description
During our class discussions and learning sessions, we were taken through digital
forensic skills in nursing which I found so vital in the current healthcare systems not only in my
country, India but also globally. In this paper I will reflect on the experience I made when
learning about forensic and incidence response. Digital forensic in nursing is an important
aspect of healthcare system which must be fully integrated in our syllabus. With the emergence
of information and communication technology, nurses will be able to solve many healthcare
problems using communication technologies especially with the security or abnormally in
healthcare settings. The concept of forensic and incidence response is also part of the new
technology which must be embraced by the registered nurses. Our lecturer further stated that
with the number of equipment connected to the internet in healthcare settings rising, cases of
security lapse or breaches have also increased, therefore, it is necessary for students and
healthcare organizations to know how to effectively respond as well as deal with the
consequences. Developing and establishing effective security strategy in healthcare
environments leads in an effective response to unexpected yet inevitable challenges.
Reflection and critical evaluation on forensic and incidence response
When I was going through this topic with my colleagues I was very happy and excited. I
have had the desire to learn more about digital forensics after being introduced to the topic
while in grade 7. After class sessions I would consult my teacher to get more information about
the topic. I was very happy to realize that forensic and digital response can improve the

provision of healthcare services to patients especially in hospitals that are rely on internet and
technology to run their operations. Any internet security can effectively be handled without
halting or disrupting healthcare service delivery. The topic has been a crucial eye opener for
me. I have realized that forensic and incidence response is a very crucial part of digital forensic.
I am considering advancing my knowledge and skills on digital forensics on a higher level of
education. Moreover, I have been challenged during our lesson that digital investigations
usually follow a laid down work flow known as digital forensic process model which entails
acquisition and identification of evidence, examination of the evidence as well as remediation
or reporting. This is an aspect of the topic which I would love to learn and get more accustomed
with.
Conclusion
I have learnt that Incidence response is a process as opposed to an isolated event, thus,
for any incident response to be effective in healthcare setting, teams should employ a
coordinated as well as organized approach to any identified incident. The lesson has highlighted
the significance of digital forensics and I am sure that not only has I enjoyed and been
motivated to learn more about this topic but also my colleagues are also excited and motivated.
Looking back at this lesson, I can say that I am happy to have been enlightened to this topic of
digital forensics. With cases of internet taking center stage in our lives, forensic and incidence
reporting will solve such problems especially in healthcare environment where quality of health
and physical wellbeing is enhanced.
