REFLECTIVE ESSAY
Introduction
The self-reflection is necessary as it helps in critical analysis of the skills and lacuna of the individual from
different perspectives and viewpoints. In this study, a self-reflection based on the acquiring of leadership
skills, motivation, communication, and presentations skills will be analysed. Moreover, strength weakness
opportunity threats of the individual will be performed based on that a personal development plan will be
constructed.
Reflection on Skills
The personal learning log is one of the most important aspects as it helps to document the daily progress of
an individual for a personal as well as professional development. I think one of the best skills that I
developed is verbal and nonverbal skills. In the personal learning log, I documented on a daily basis my
development on the interpersonal and communication and the mass communication in an efficient way. If I
want to become a manager I have to improve on my communication skills to efficiently engage with my
colleagues to transfer information. This personal blog will be helpful for my future plans.
According to the present situation one of the major skills that is required in the organisation in the
presentation skill. This is regarded as soft skills. I have learned the presentation skills by giving a
presentation in front of the mass (Travers, Morisano,. and Locke, 2015). The presentation skills helped in
proper time management and enhancement of my analysis power. Moreover, another important skill that is
acquired is effective communication in a group to prepare the group presentation. These skills should help
me to work as manager in the future in an organisation as giving a presentation to a mass audience is
helpful to effectively convey information that may be comprehended effectively by different people.
There are different skills like listening skills, speaking skill, critical analysis skills and comprehensive and
management skills those help us to analyse any complex situation to make an effective decision. I have
learned the skill analysis that helps in documenting the new traits and skills that I have acquired from the
lessons. The most important factor is analysing the traits of different viewpoints. For example in skill
analysis, I should analyze my listening ability by taking feedback from my peers and professors to enhance
the skill. Furthermore, critical analysis skill is developed by forming logical arguments.
One of the most effective skills that are required to become a successful professional is leadership skills.
There are different kinds of leadership theories like situational, democratic leadership. In this course, I have

acquired the situational leadership that helps to analyze a situation and develop spontaneous action plan
depending on the situation. Moreover, the democratic relationship helps in analyzing the situation and
talking ideas from every team members to combat the situation in an efficient way (Kolts et al.,2018). The
knowledge development by self-help method is important as it helps in enhancing those there by thinking
and forecasting particular problems in a given situation. The result of this is that the vision of the individual
is improved.I have effectively enhanced my vision that should help me with my future career development.
One of the major skills that I have learned is the preparation CV by enhancing the documentation skill.
Motivation is one of the most important aspects that help the individual to grow as a professional. Self-
motivation is one of the important ways to get an individual motivated enough so that he can perform his
work with overall enthusiasm. Self-analysis and self-counseling may help to gather motivation in work.
Focusing on the job in hand and getting credit for that may enhance motivation. I have learned that self-
motivation is very important as it helps to re-energize the mind and give fuel to continue the work in an
innovative manner.
SWOT
SWOT analysis helps in identifying strength and lacunas, opportunities and threats of an individual
Strengths
 I have identified that I have very good situational analysis power that helps me to analyze a
situation from different perspective.
 Moreover, I have identified that I have a vision and can forecast any problem at an earlier stage
that should help me to develop the necessary action plan (Düking, Holmberg,. and Sperlich, 2018 )
 One of my major strength is the documentation and report writing skill. I have a very good flare for
writing and can manage to document essential information in an efficient way
Weaknesses
 I have lacuna in communication in both verbal and in both verbal and nonverbal form
 Due to the Lacuna in the communication skill, I face problems when giving a presentation as it
takes strong verbal and non-verbal communication skill to give presentation
 I face problems while working with sophisticated computer technologies (Gürel, and Tat, 2017)

 There are communication courses that provide lots of opportunities to emphasize verbal and
nonverbal skills
 There are lots of technological computer programs that help to develop the technological aspects
in an efficient way
Threats
 The competition among the individual in the professional sector is fierce
 The rapid progress of technology is creating a problem as individuals are sometimes not able to
keep pace with the changing technologies
Personal development plan
The personal development plan that I have formulated is for six months and in that, I have specified some
of the problems that I should overcome by involving specified strategies.

The study mainly focused on different learning's and its analysis. The SWOT analysis of the individual and
