REFLECTION 2
Overall, I would rate this interview a 4/10. This is because, during the interview, I kept
saying ‘mmm’ repeatedly. I also moved hands consistently, showing no sign of stability and
openness. I did not move my hands to touch the fingertips, clasping of harms, and also did not
move fingers I gave my response. I kept eye contact but, the contact was not enough to exhibit
the honesty required of interviewees.
During the interview, some actions assisted me in gaining confidence. I was not looking
into the video directly. I did not like looking at the video directly since this would make me lose
confidence and start admiring my face. This would be an obstruction and would lead to
ineffectiveness in the interview. However, I tried to breathe confidently and also smile.
I maintained a light, relaxed smile that could assist others in conveying a sense of
calmness and filling the gap with a feeling of humor. The smile I gave could assist in diffusing
any wrong information that I provided.
During the interview, I tried to cover every part of the obvious questions. I tried to
answer any question that I thought would be asked. I also lean my body forward to show that I
was fully engaged. My response was a little bit comprehensive. However, I will have to do more
practice on interviews.it is not easy to demonstrate issues in interviews, and hence it is vital to
keep on practicing. I will need time to gather relevant experience in interviews and ask historical
questions rather than hypothetical ones.
During the interview, I presented myself in a relaxed position, and at times I maintained
eye contact with the screen. However, I did not speak slowly with a calm, pleasant voice, but I

spoke fast instead. I also did not pronounce all parts of syllable words and did not show
effectiveness in pausing. I will need to show the efficacy of communication in future interviews.
Consistency in body language is a vital factor since it allows convincing the interviewer
your value. Body language conveys human communication. The volume I spoke with during the
interview was not high enough, but I was a little bit audible. I would do better in future
interviews. I also maintained a good posture during the interview and hence showed that I was
confident with what I was communicating. During the meeting, there exist several body
movements that I indicated that contributed much to the interview, and I moved my fists and
palm severally to calm down and prove the predictability that I had in myself. The hand gestures
assisted me to talk about what was in mind and make it intelligible to the other people. Gesturing
while I was talking helped me in my thinking by clearing thoughts and speaking.
STARR technique assisted me in describing the task that I needed to accomplish. In my
interview, I was particular and did not give general information. I gave detailed information and
the story that any listener could understand. I also explained my intention and maintained
relevance because I was involved in the story I was giving. I also described the outcome that I
expected at the end of the mission.
During the interview, there are several features that I demonstrated perfectly. I maintained
eye contact, although I was not glued to the screen. This could give interviewers the calmness
and prepare them to listen to me. I also kept a relaxed motion so that I could reveal the
confidence that I had with my interview. I also answered most of the questions that crossed my
mind concerning the interview.

REFLECTION 4
However, I did not speak slowly during the interview and did not pronounce all words in
a sentence. This would lead to communication breakdown to people who do not speak fluent
English. I also spoke in a low tone, and this could lead to ineffective communication. I would
have to improve communication in future interviews.
To improve my performance in interviews, I will do intense practice in verbal and non-
verbal communication. I will also consider listening to people as they talk so that I perfect my
communication. I will use the appropriate language where necessary. I will do much practice on
interpersonal communication and ensure that I will be open to any conversation in future.
