6. Lead or participate collaboratively in a team.
a. As you have read through the textbook and worked on the project this term, in what new
ways do you now see collaboration? What skills are easy for you? (You may want to use
some examples, e.g., you might have captained a sporting team.) What skills do you now
realise you are still developing? How important have you found collaboration in your team
project? What's worked well for you? What has been frustrating?
Team working is one of the important practices which has to be taken into consideration in the
companies so that the work and operations can be able to get done effectively. The collaboration
is the approach which could be used as the base for creating a healthy team. The contribution in
the activities and operations are considered to be a collaboration (Trevelyan, 2014).
It is understood that collaboration in a team plays an essential and vital role as with the help of
this the team working become more reliable and the level of confidence among the teammate
will get enhanced, and this will directly assist the firm to reach the long term survival. The
collaboration is not only a term but also the effect of it in the business functioning is also very
high and positive. It has been found that the collaboration factor is very important along with this
the functioning activities will also be able to get done in the team (Trevelyan, 2014).
The understanding about each other's is one of the major factors or skills which is still needed to
be improved as this is considered to be very important and necessary for the company to
maintain and have an effective team.
The management and execution of the activities were the areas which get performed in the
sporting team activities. The frustrating part seems to be the irregular treatment done by me
which affected not only work but also it affected for personal undemanding as well (Ellis, 2018).

b. Write briefly about a situation where you have had to instruct someone. This might be in
the workplace or on a sporting team or another situation. How easy was that process?
What were the difficulties?
The training session for the engineering work was going on where all the members were divided
into the teams so that the certain set of works can be allotted to a particular group and as a team
they can work together and can obtain the benefits as well as new learning (Tajino, et. al., 2015).
There was a situation where the problems were discussed, and that was not getting understood by
few members of my team. This is the time when I initiated and felt to instruct them about the
things that are needed to be get done in the particular set of assigned work. The process of
making others understand is not very easy when the people are much time senior or of same
categories. This is very difficult to make them know the things which they have not understood,
and they had to learn things from us (Folger, et. al., 2015). The difficulty majorly faced was the
situation where all are in ego and seniority where no one wants to understand and communicate
well with each other. This is the state where I get to learn and know that teamwork is only
successful when the presence of collaboration is there.
The process as per my understanding and experience was not easy as handling the member in a
team with different thought process and thinking will never be in support of one for anything,
this is because of lack in trust factors among the team members. Therefore the level of
difficulties is very high as compared to the other situation because instructing at a training level
is also one of the difficult task (Scott, 2015).

7. Demonstrate critical self-review, self-management and lifelong learning.
a. Summarise key changes that you believe you would need to make to your work
behaviours to be a more effective engineer in your country or in another country where
you might be doing engineering.
The work that one does need to be very effective and it is highly needed that the engineering is
getting done in the best and effective possible manner. There are some changes which need to be
understood and to be considered in the working behaviours so that the effective engineer can be
obtained. The required changes are like the communication process, it is understood that
communication in an organisation is very important and is very necessary that the
communication method has to be get done in the best and most suitable manner (Scott, 2015).
Practical applications of understanding is also very important which is lacking in the present
working style, hence the changes here also needs to be done in the present working because this
will be making the improvements in the way of presenting the work along with this the
effectiveness in the operations and functioning could also be obtained in the appropriate needed
manner.

b. In order to effectively manage a project, you also need to effectively manage your own
time. How effective do you believe you are at managing your time? What are your best and
worst behaviours in terms of time management?
The time management approach is very important and it is very necessary that the tea of the
organisation has to take effective initiatives and put an appropriate required contribution in
meeting the work on the desired set times. The work and assignments availed to an individual
have its worth and value as to maintain it, there is high need of time management so that the
value of the project could be able to get meet in an effective and required manner. The time
management can be get done effectively when the priorities of the work are getting set in the
systematic orders (Folger, et. al., 2015). The most suitable and required factors are said to be as
the time management process at the same time the standards and priorities are not set in the
required way then the management of the time is not possible in the required and desired way.
The work which is in the process is get managed on timely because all the actions needed to be
performed are very well structured and planned in a systematic order.
