Reflection of group project: my contribution and experience of working in a team
It is true that every team project help us in several ways. I also get to learn several things
while working in a group project. I was given the responsibility to elaborate the research
questions. For this, I firstly find out the correct meaning of industrialization. It brings the
changes in society and economic conditions. I worked on elaborating the research questions
by effectively researching about them. I effectively did the research through primary and
secondary data collection method. I did the selection of right information as per inductive
research approach. I believe that a person should do extensive research in order to get the
proper output of that information. I used to research on every aspect of my research part and
discuss it with the team. My belief is that when you are working in a team, you should
effectively communicate with every member for deciding the right information. I believe that
primary data as well as secondary data is important for getting the correct information.
Regarding primary data, I think that we are able to get the fresh and supportive data. As
compare to this, secondary data helps in getting the data that are already published by the
authors (Assaad, Krafft & Yassin, 2018).
My personal experience about the team member was mainly research part. It is also important
for making any project. Before the starting of project, I was bit nervous regarding how I will
be able to coordinate and communicate with the team members properly, as well as how we
will be able to manage the discussion in team. This thing has changed with time when we
started acquainted with each other. It is true that there are some sections of discontent and
disagreement on different aspects. Due to this, it is true that decision would delayed.
However, we definitely reached to the best output by effectively doing the communication
with other, fixing problems as well as overcoming obstacles (Felix, Rauschnabel and Hinsch,
2017). When I was elaborating the research question given to me, I was having different
mind-set. I thought that it would be just copying the topic and getting the answers.
Afterwards, my mind set has changed then I started searching the research questions. I
personally get to learn that we have to sort the articles by finding out its reliability. In my
case, I read the articles effectively by giving major emphasis on the abstract part. This has
increased my understanding regarding the article relevance. At the same time, when any data
has been mentioned, I searched for those data. If they are in existence, then they are definitely
relevant. At the same time, it changed my perception that researching correct and perfect data
is too hard. But when I started doing it, I felt that it is quite interesting to read different article
and find out their relevancy in number of ways (Binder, 2016).
My personal experience about the summarising of the article is found to be relevant. For
getting the best results, research is also done in the Malaysian organisation. In that survey, I
come to know that working conditions, workloads, and relationships are the major concerns
that cause the stress at workplace. I made my personal contribution in the literature review by
extending the research on questions that are asked in the research questions part. Three of us
have given the responsibilities as per our area of interest and capability. I believe that I was
good enough to research deeply on the certain topics that were given to me. I come to know

that elaboration of any research helps us in several ways. I personally come to know that it
extends our area of interest. The most significant thing I come to know while working in
group project is the commitment of people toward achieving goal. Without any commitment,
no one is able to work effectively during the group project. When we do it from the same
zeal, it definitely broaden our knowledge to several concepts. In this situation also, I come to
know that when I searched data with the positive mind, I definitely got the answer to every
question. At the same time, when I searched everything with down morale, I was not even
able to find the answers. Therefore, a positive mind set is also required in effective research
(Peeters & Sexton, 2019).
Overall, my experience about working in team project was wonderful because it gave me the
opportunity to work on different topics and learn something. It also gave me the opportunity
to work and contact with different types of people that is quite important. As the group work
started getting progress, I began to realise that I am capable of fulfilling my responsibility and
completing my part. In my opinion, social media has helped us in effectively communication
with each other. I know that timings problems is the major issue while communicating on
social media. In order to overcome from this issue, we have scheduled the meeting on
Wednesday. I personally appreciate the performance of my team members because everyone
tried their best in fulfilling their responsibility. The most significant thing I come to know
while working in group project is the commitment of people toward achieving goal. At the
same time, helping nature of people helped us in working effectively without too much
conflict. Conflict is one such thing that is prominent when two or more people work together.
However, it is true that if proper discussion is held regarding every problem, then solution is
definitely possible (Paradis et al, 2016).
I personally did the research part which was quite interesting as well as challenging at the
same time. It is because we have to do research deeply in order to find the correct data for the
research. I worked on several aspects of research and find out that there was not proper
research done on the modern effects of industrialisation on the employees stress and health.
However, I personally experienced that some of the associations have opened door for
bringing development in the economy and thereby people life (Oostervink, Agterberg &
Huysman, 2016). I learnt that it is not easy to research anything. We also need to check the
reliability of the article by knowing the author, publication as well as date of publication. Self
reflection means self observation as reporting one’s desires, thoughts and feelings. I also
observed many things by myself in order to learn varied things regarding data collection. The
section, which I have written specially, was quite knowledgeable and interesting. As a
student, we got the research habit that might help us in number of ways.
