Introduction
In present time, there is extensive competition prevails within the society so it is
important for a person to improve own skills, capabilities in order to perform assigned work with
greater efficiency. For this purpose, it is required to constantly get engage in the process of
learning new skills and capabilities. Here, skills differentiate a person from others and help in
making unique identity. If a person has suitable skill set, it is easy to get a better employment.
Individual capabilities are limited but it is possible to get tremendous benefits by combining the
potential of several individual as a team. Here, teams are able to attain remarkable results which
is quiet difficult to achieve at individual level. Team working is vital in order to get success in
current competitive environment. In addition to this, individuals are required to get engage in
skill development and enhancement in order to get benefit in future period of time (Gharaveis,
Hamilton and Pati, 2018). Main purpose of present journal is to identify the learning’s
throughout the sessions that will help an individual to perform different roles and responsibilities
in future period of time. It shows that how a person can develop self by applying the skills
learned during the module. The following report will include an example where I worked in a
team. It includes belbin model in order to assess the process and effectiveness of team
development during the activity. In addition to this, it also includes a suitable example along
with the application of appropriate theories. This module is crucial in development of soft skills.
The report includes information about skills which I developed during unit and the way in which
I am going to enhance those skills. Moreover, the report comprises learning, skills developed by

Team work
Team work refers the practices of working in a team where individuals having different
capabilities, skills work together in order to attain predefine team goals. In team work different
people work collaboratively so that they can accomplish set goals. Here, it is possible to cover
the weakness of a person with the strength of other (Logan and Michael Malone, 2018).
I took part in activities arranged in the classroom. It was a group discussion activity.

crucial member of team who significantly contributed in attainment of team goals through my
skills and potential. I was responsible to handle the entire team. I was performing role of leader
where I need to provide guidance, support to each and every team members for the success of
entire team. During this process, each and every member carried out their own SWOT analysis.
As a part of whole process, I also carry out SWOT analysis of my own that is given below:

Belbin team role theory: It is a team development model that was developed by
Meredith Belbin in the year of 1981. Under this, role of team members is classified in three
broad categories which are discussed below:
Thought oriented roles:
Plant: In this, innovators are included who are creative and have the capability to come
up with unique & innovative ideas. Main aim of these people is to get appreciation from others.
It is quiet difficult for them to handle the criticism. These are the people who develop new ideas
thus they prefer to work alone without team (Salas and et. al., 2020). Their ideas are novel and
might be impractical in certain situations. Most of the team members are ready to accept the

implement the strategies in real context. They think in practical manner and likely to structure
suitable ideas from concrete plans. In addition to this, implementers are self motivated and
highly disciplined individuals. They are likely to complete the work in predefined and structured
way. However, they are also ready to make necessary changes in order to get positive outcomes
in future period of time (Johnson and et. al., 2020).
Completer: These people are responsible to check the quality of work during different
stages of project. Usually, completers are highly perfect in their work hence they are likely to
notice certain fine details in work. Main aim of completer is to identify errors in order to improve
the quality of overall work (Collins and et. al., 2019). These people not only work perfectly but
also expect same from others. It is important to ensure presence of these individuals to ensure
that the entire work is completed with superior quality.

Resource investigator: These people are extremely talented in networking. In addition to
this, high enthusiasm and positivity is found in these individuals which allow them to explore
new opportunities. They are efficient enough in picking up a new, innovative as well as creative
idea for success of whole team (Naweed, 2020).
After analyzing the above mentioned roles, it is found that I was working as a Sharper
within team. This is an action oriented role where I am responsible to guide individuals
throughout the process. I am working as a leader who is responsible to handle the whole team. In
my role, I talk to team members in order to know the issues, obstacles face by them while
performing the actual tasks. With this, I get to know about the actual issues which further allow
me to take suitable steps in order to ensure further improvement. I face ample of challenges but
face all the challenges with higher positivity and enthusiasm. Under this role, I also got the
opportunity to interact with ample of people. I tried to find out the best suitable way to motivate
team members. I used to take feedback from members and guide them as per requirement. In this
role, I used to work under pressure but I took all the challenges with great positivity and
enthusiasm.
Contextualization
Contextualization refers to establish connection with real context. In learning,
contextualization is highly important as it helps learners in understanding the basics of concept.
With this, one can easily connect with real life situation that help in order to understand the
whole topic in an efficient manner. In context of HRM session, I know the significance of human
resources within organization. The company for which I worked, they apply suitable ways so that
employees stay with them for longer period of time. During my work, there was a time when I
really feel disappointment with work. I felt that my job has become monotonous. I started to feel
demotivated which was affecting my performance at work place. In this situation, application of
Maslow’s theory by leader and managers of company really helped me to get the work sprit
back.
Maslow’s Theory:
It is a well-known theory of motivation which was developed by Abraham Maslow in 1943. It
was proposed initially in research paper and currently being use by majority of companies across
this, high enthusiasm and positivity is found in these individuals which allow them to explore

meet with basic needs as I am earning enough to satisfy my daily requirements.
Safety needs: After satisfaction of psychological needs, individuals look for the
fulfillment of safety needs. Each and every person wishes to get a safe life. For this purpose, they
rely on police, family and society. Type of security may be differ as per the requirement of a
person. Some people wish to get financial security whereas some seek for emotional security. I
am really conscious about security of my health, finance and more. My company provides me
life insurance coverage, provident fund and more such facilities in order to ensure safety &
security in future period of time.

Product innovation: This is the most vital category of innovation where innovation is
done in product. In current time, it is vital to add new features in products so that customers can

imperative to develop new products in order to stay in competitive market place for longer run.
During team work, I along with my team members develop the innovative product in order to
grab the attention of customers in an efficient manner.
Paradigm: It is the crucial type of technology that is designed in order to resolve the
actual issue. It is related with advancements, innovation, and uniqueness in business. Major
examples of this innovation are AI, IOT, machine learning, block chain and more. These all
technologies are advance and help in enhancing the overall level of productivity and profitability.
While working in team on new ideas, pragmatic innovation helped me to identify the ways by
which we can actually enhance the level of productivity, reduce expenses, and generate long-
term ROI and more.
Process: In terms of process, there is requirement of innovation. With the enhancement
in process, it is possible to meet with the needs of customers in timely manner. In addition to
this, process innovation also minimizes the probabilities of mishappenings in business. By

current situation, I along with my team members develop the innovation in terms of process so
that we can provide best possible solutions to clients.

Communication Skills: Communication is the way in which two or more persons

requirement of individuals and business. In business world, communication is used in order to
maintain connectivity within internal and external business environment. In addition to this,
communication skills allow an individual to put better impression on others (Fikri and et. al.,
2020). If a person is able to effectively communicate with others, it is easy to carry out the
business process in smooth way. This skill is helpful in interacting with different people at work
place. For developing communication skill, I will join online sessions where I need to learn the
opportunity from experts. In addition to this, I will also go read the books, articles, journals in
new market. Here, organizations reposition themselves in order to attract more number of buyers
in an efficient manner. In this, it is possible to reposition the product or service in order to
improve the overall image of product and brand in an efficient manner (Oeij and et. al., 2019). I
worked with the team where we prepare the strategies in order to reposition the product prepared
by us. This repositioning is important in order to improve the market image of product in an
efficient manner.
Development
In Current scenario, soft skills are really important in order to make an enriching and bright
career. Soft skills put a positive impression on other person and allow individuals to get better
career growth opportunities. Apart from this, soft skills also enhanced the overall personality of a
person which improves the opportunity to get a better job in future period of time. Additionally,
soft skills are interpersonal skills which depict relationship of a person with rest of the world.
Some crucial soft skills are communication, leadership, time management and more. These skills
are not only helpful in improving performance at work place but also enrich the overall
personality of an individual (Succi and Canovi, 2020). The module helped in enhancing my soft
skills so that I can perform well during activities. I got opportunity to interact with ample of
people during module which improved my interpersonal skills. Here, the skill enhancement will

business scenario, one needs to make appropriate use of time. If talking about me, I have to
achieve the monthly targets assigned to me. For this, I require proper schedule and need to act as
per that. In order to develop my time management skills, I take sessions on time management. I
take guidance from my seniors in order to know their mechanism of time management. In
addition to this, I prepare a proper schedule and stick to that schedule. With my time
management capabilities, I am able to attain the set targets by deadlines. This skill helps me a lot
in performing my work within organization. Due to this, I am able to maintain a positive
influence over my seniors and peers.
Team work: It is the capability of working in a team. Here, individuals having different
personalities, perception are likely to work together in a group. Through team work, it is possible
to attain those skills which cannot attain individually. In team work, each and every individual
get the opportunity to demonstrate own skills. In business, team work is essential in order to
attain set goals. With team work, it is possible to utilize the skills, potential of each and every
individual who are working in team (England, Nagel and Salter, 2020). I also worked in a team
where I used to interact with ample of people. I used to work with other members in
collaborative manner. As a crucial member of team, I always tried to help each and every
