Introduction
Self-analysis is the study and examination of one’s personal traits. A regular self-evaluation
of the potentials of oneself helps to realize the strength and weakness and to work on the
weaknesses accordingly. It is the understanding and examination of one’s conscious and
subconscious mind, and can be considered as self supervision. Self-supervision is the
supervision of self to identify positive and negative aspects. It helps to check the potential,
interests, passion and values incurred, to identify the faults prevailing in them, and to act
accordingly. In this project, four skills have been analysed in this project, which include
resilience, team work, public speaking, focus and attention. All these attributes necessary in
the functioning of self and they can be said to be essential attributes, which lead to better
performance of individuals. They are the need of the hour. They have been discussed in the
following project in a significant manner. The acquirement of these skills is important as it
helps in developing thought process and the process to perform the functions in a significant
manner. They can be said to develop the potential of an individual simultaneously. They act
as the shield in the personal traits of an individual.

What is the core skill?
Core skill is the basic skill which one possesses (Bens, 2017). The core skill that I has been
discussed in this section, is resilience. Resilience means the ability of a person to stay calm
even in adverse situations. It is the prospect as to how we look at things in adverse situations.
It is the adaptation of self during tough times.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
Core skill is important because the skill enunciates the confidence in oneself to deliver
(Bouaassria, 2016). I selected the skill of resilience, as it is vital skill in the professional
scenario. Resilience is necessary in the prospect as it provides the zeal to tackle situations in a
proactive manner. It helps an individual to adjust to different circumstances in a prolific
manner. The academic experience that I encountered was fruitful because of the resilience
our team delivered simultaneously, and having superior resilience will also help me in
developing my career. The skill is effective in adverse situations. The skill helps to develop a
more positive, creative and flexible approach to change.

competence?
The skill that I have discussed in this aspect is directed towards prime focus towards real me.
The academic research that I encountered in the session is directed towards the resilience in
the research. The research was of a law scenario, which requires rigorous effort on the part of
the self or the team if encountered. The resilience plays a pivotal role in the same sphere as it
highlights towards attention at its peak at encountering the same. I used the Connor-Davidson
Resilience Scale, according to which analysis was done on five interrelated aspects, which
include spiritual influences, control, trust/tolerance, acceptance of change and personal
competence. I understood that my resilience is average, and I need to further improve this

There is a contradiction in the scenario, which highlights that the skill possessed by me and
my peers approach. The peers approach was that they were curious about the research
findings and the deliberation simultaneously. According to my peers, I have good resilience
and can work calmly even under extreme pressure. They also thought that I could efficiently
manage the workload as well as other commitments; however, I think that I cannot handle
high-pressure situations as effectively. The tutor along with the peers approach towards the
project was positive in nature and the feedback I received was good.
How will this skill help me in the future?
The skill that I possess would help to mitigate solutions in an efficient manner. It would help
to encounter the solutions in a proficient manner. The skill helps me to look at situations from
a different perspective. It helps me to analyze the situations in proficient manner. The
priorities help me to encounter the situations in a positive aspect. The priorities were the
solutions towards the project in an effective manner. The project was initiated towards the
case analyses and had to be encountered taking into account the pros and cons of the case.
Moreover, the evidences in the case had to be mingled out. The case was subjected to a
multiple sphere and had to be encountered in a detailed basis. This is possible through sheer
dedication.

answer in the public podium. Initially it was hard but with ongoing semesters, it gained

effort and the accolades provided by the tutorials just doubled my performance efforts

performance in the project. There were multiple projects, which were submitted. The
